The Senate will be voting on a bill to give Social Security Benefits to Government employees who OPTED OUT of Social Security in order to get a federal pension instead.  They also want to backdate it to January 2024 which will cost the SS fund $2 billion.  After 2024, the cost is estimated to be $238,000,000,000 a year, which may reduce benefits to those who DID pay into the fund.

These employees were asked when they were hired to choose, pursuant to the Windfall Elimination Act of 1984 to pick a federal pension or Social Security, but they were not allowed to have both, because that would be windfall at taxpayers' expense.  Now Joe wants to take care of his friends in DC who chose to opt out of SS by giving them a benefit payment anyway, even though they paid nothing into the SS fund.  Piling up more spending to try to stop Trump from succeeding. Dirty bastards.
