Don't forget your history.  The US overthrew democratically elected Mohammed Mossadegh in Iran in 1953 and installed the Shah.  We all know how well that turned out.

And wasn't it Dubya who promised to spread democracy throughout the world?  How's that working out in Iraq and Afghanistan?  Maybe Obama was just following his lead in Egypt.
