The I wouldn't saying it's embracing nor steering toward the Pillars of Obama's foreign policy, but rather steering to avoid the rocky shoals of a disastrous foreign policy. Trump is learning there are some unmovable objects. ;)

It is part of the complex US tax code. Most of the ideas came from republicans, including the tax credit. The first implementation was Romneycare care in Massachusetts.  

The only changes that will possibly be made will be tax credits for all. Maybe some tweaking of insurance pools. The bottom line is the deadline is coming up for 2018 plans. It will be at least 3 to 5 years before they can make drastic changes imho.

The republicans also realize that it is a major important factor of the US economy.

...do little to resolve the genuine problems with our American healthcare system. First we must stop treating healthcare primarily as a business when the primary goal is & must be resolving the individual health issues for everyone in America, without this anything we do is like shoveling sand at the beach. Once that is complete we can set the priorities of what we (the government) can help with & how much are we willing to pay for it. I believe the goal of good health for America is encumbered by the for profit insurance, pharmaceutical, & corporate healthcare organisations whose so called good business practice puts profits ahead of anything ells, with this practice good healthcare for Americans won't happen.
