Phil Gramm probably had John McCain in mind when he said : we are a nation of whiners!

>>>

Hours ahead of the vice presidential debate, Sen John McCain (R-Ariz.) criticized the selection of PBS's Gwen Ifill as moderator because she is writing a book called "The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama."

McCAIN: "Frankly, I wish they had picked a moderator that isn’t writing a book favorable to Barack Obama. Let’s face it. But I have to have to have confidence that Gwen Ifill will handle this as the professional journalist that she is. ... Life isn’t fair, as I mentioned earlier in the program"

Here's a question for McCain :  Why was your campaign so inept in not strongly objecting prior & insisting on another moderator??

There needs to be a reason for the debacle, in case Caribou Barbie doesn't do well.

If Biden flubs a question, what will his excuse be?

She stands to gain financially (hundreds of thousands) but only if BHO wins.

She should have been obliged to disclose this to the Debate Board.

If she did, they should have been obliged to disqualify her.

Once they knew, they should have been obliged to disqualify her, even if it meant delaying the debate.

Sounds like McCain had an opportunity to discover this and object, but none of the burden of responsibility should be on him.

The announcement of the book goes back to July.  Fair or not, it's not new news.

There should be absolutely zero burden on the participants to see to it that the moderator is appropriate.
