Matt Damon should shut the fuck up and stick to acting.

He opened his mouth and made a fool out of himself.

I predict that S. Palin will kick ass in her debate and on the Sunday morning talk shows.  She'd beat the fuck out of Hillary with one hand behind her  back and the same with Joe Biden.

He basically describes her as VP as absurd and compares her situation to a bad Disney movie.

but he does have some valid points. Palin as POTUS if McCain bites would remind me of a bad Disney movie.

OTOH an Obama Presidency would be more like a Stephen King  movie.

Palin - 12 years in elected office...

Obama  - 10 years in elected office - and NONE in an executive roll.

right Matt.... right on.

Sarah Palin just hit a grand slam home run with her answers to Charlie's questions.

She's got THE RIGHT STUFF!!!  SHE'S A TOP GUN!!!
The spirit of Ronald Reagan lives on.

Now, compare her to Joe Biden AKA double talker boy.  She's going to kick his butt. Joe Biden is going to go back to that chicken farm in Delaware--where he belongs.  I can hardly wait.  Hillary Clinton is scared too.  I think lots and lots of dem women are going to vote----GOP. GOP up and down the ticket.

I bet Matt Damon will eat his words.

she was abysmal.  She said she knew gods will and he called her on it.  She was double talking in the worst way.  I've never seen her look so bad.  Until now, she has been a 10 out of 10 on speech making, easily Obama's rival.  But that interview was a solid 6 at best.

I know you don't think that all time in elected office is the same.  Palin has 12 years, but do you really think her time on city council for a city of $5,000 people and Mayor of a city with $5,000 people counts for that much.  For purposes of this discussion only, I'll give you the time as governor as very valuable, but the rest is near meaningless.

By way of comparison, what would you think of someone from the New York city counsel as a VP candidate?  Surely NY has much bigger issues than Wasilla.

By way of comparison, what would you think of the Brooklyn borough president as a VP candidate (executive office governing 4 million people)?

he needs to know if she believes in dinosaurs...???  Does Barney count?  lol!  I would much rather know how she feels about the hunt for bin laden... what her stance would be on illegal immigration, how she would work as Pres of the Senate (the duty of the VP)....  and much more that is likely to affect me, and my kids directly...

How she would reconcile some of her positions that are at odds with McCain?

But Dinosaurs...

look, no kidding around - Damon is a pretty interesting actor.... just as is Sean Penn.... but they are very much light weights when it comes to these types of pronouncements... my comments - AS REDICULOUS as they are... as no worse that Damons drival... and you know it.

In reality, he parroted my feelings.  I very much care whether she believes in evolution.  How can I possibly expect her to make investments in education if she doesn't believe in an education that I can respect?

As for 4000 years ago.  I think he has lost his mind.

What positively irks me about some of the evolutionists is their closed minds.  Cosmologists are much more open in "What they think about the creation of the universe."  Heck, the "big bang" is described in Genesis.... but hey - even without that.... they are NOT at odds.  one describes how or the tools, the other describes the why....

Investments in education?  lol! what a joke... me- I want to tear down our existing educational institutions.... why?  they are very corrupt...

I've posted on that very topic - supported with some data... and evidence of just how corrupt... but if you want an example?  How the heck can a university - which by the way, enjoys TAX EXEMPT status - charge $32K per year tuition... with a $5 BILLION gain on its $29.2 Billion endowment.   Gimme a fucking break.... Invest in education....

In questioning Sarah Palin's experience in international relations, ABC News correspondent Charlie Gibson noted that the job of vice president is not just about reforming a government but “running a government on a huge international stage in a very dangerous world.” He told Ms. Palin he had asked Mr. McCain about her national security credentials and that Mr. McCain had pointed to her commanding of the Alaska National Guard and noted that Alaska is close to Russia.

Mr. Gibson asked her what insight she had gained from living in such close proximity to Russia.

“You can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska,” she said.

IS THIS REALLY WHO YOU WANT RUNNING OUR COUNTRY?   Many women have said, "Oh, she's just like me."   Is that really a good reason to vote for someone?   Do I really want the "soccer mom" or  the "hockey mom" who lives down the street from me running this country and making critical decisions?   I don't know about you, but I don't d like someone A LOT smarter than me sitting in the Oval Office.   And Sarah Palin certainly isn't smarter than I am.

I distictly remember wanting to help my students, challenge them to learn... do interesting and useful research.

Then I discovered the harsh reality of academic life.  Political?  the national scientific priorities are set by the political lobby and special interest groups, instead of a rational approach to what we need, and what would benefit the country the most.... and here is the sad part, UNiversities, who have no incentive to be moral or ethical, go along with that politicization of agendas only to get funding.

Good ole boy system?  you bet.

But wait - it gets worse...  academia fails to acknowledge that one aspect of their function is to turn out graduates who have an ability to contribute in a useful, meaningful and self-gratifying manner.  All too often, I see young, intelligent, promising, and highly educated men and women graduate, with absolutely no job skills....   That is important, let me restate it.  I've hired many folks over my career, and often, I've had to interview people, who I could not employ simply because of significant deficiencies in their education.  Often, they would have a degree in a field in which - THE ONLY PLACE NEEDING THEIR SKILL WAS THE UNIVERSITY....  I feel that with the university's authority, and influence over the chosen path of study, it is incumbant on the university to realistically guide a student - not just through college - but into a rewarding and challenging career... in short - life skills... and most fail at that.  How did I get to my position... Not through my university guidance officer - but rather my AF ROTC guidance counselor... oft I think of him, and his kind and constructive words...

How anyone can look at the current academic mess - and think that pouring more money into academia, K-Grad school, without a top to bottom overhaul is just delusional.

Please feel free to say as much in politics as the media will print.

My biggest desire is for all the Hollywood stars to rant and rave and say the silly things they say.

Half the public already is not enamoured with stars spouting politics.

And you and your friends are so easy to rebut it is worth 1,000 hours of GOP advertising time.

I heard that your friend G. Clooney is having a big fund raising party in Europe for Obama.  This just creates a negative taste in the mouth of most people who don't have their own dressing room with free French water in the fridge.

Go Matt!
