Ahhhhh, dinner is over, maid and cook are gone and I have the whole house to myself.  So Im sipping on a little of the emerald and start flipping channels to get to c-span.  Before I get there I see a bunch of degenerates behaving like animals(they look human) and being applauded.  Sure enough it is the orgy of an event known as the MTV music awards.
It makes me wonder about social liberalism in general where an anything goes attitude prevails, standards really do not exist, emotions and impulses reign supreme, personal satisfaction can always be acted upon and justified, and foresight is an afterthought(if at all a part of the equation)
Young girls idolize Britney spears, and young guys listen to gutter trash also known as rap music.  Can someone please explain to me how we got to this low of a point??  Do you liberals not at all realize what a low point this is in society and in the course of human history when you allow your kids to listen to and watch this garbage??

After the disturbances of the sixties and early seventies, the basic behavior of young people, when push comes to shove has not changed.
I finished High School in 1970, but did not enter college until 1976.  The kids that I interacted with in High School and the young adults that I interacted with in college appear to be no different that the one that I interact with now.  I see the same percentage of people who are dropouts from society, the same percentage that have no idea concerning what they want to do and the same percentage that is career oriented, I think more so today.
I feel that after peeking several years ago, MTV is increasingly serving a smaller and smaller segment of young people.  Only a fraction of that group engage in the type of conduct that you deplore.  I saw more p**** and tits displayed for all to see during my time in high school and college than I can dream of seeing now.  Yung people today have more refined attitudes about sex, but they have those attitudes under control, more than less.
As far as rap music is concerned, any rapper that wants to be a largescale commercial success has to take the edge of his or her music.  Look at the number of former hardcore rappers from the early nineties that are pushing all types of products for advertisers these days - it was them who changed, not the other way around.  Who care about those on the fringes that will not change?  Yes, they will get to some teens, but most of those teens will turn out ok.  Some of the stuff that I listened to behind my parents backs when I was a teen would cause your hair to stand on end, but I was an honors student in high school and I would match the values that I have now against anyone's here on this board.

It's not just rap that sucks nowadays.  Just about every genre SUCKS - Not much talent anywhere, very sparse IMHO.

I just wish these youngsters would wash their F'n hair, pull up their F'n pants, and stop going out in their F'n pajamas.

I'm in thirties but feel like a geezer (not GOPgeezer of course).
