...with his body cam while he was planting drugs. He thought he was turning off his body cam when he performed the criminal act of planting drugs but the genius with a GED only put the body cam on mute. Then he turned the mic on and went back with his fellow Stooges/crooked cops who aided and abetted his criminal act and proceeded to "discover" the drugs.
They arrested an innocent person who would have been convicted by the scumbag prosecutors had it not been for the brilliant Public Defender who knows that all cops are liars and killers. All he had to do was dig a little to find out what a sociopathic POS this cop and his buddies are. They didn't give a shit that an innocent man was going to go to prison because of their criminal acts. Body cams are too high tech for dumbass cops. Now granted, you probably are not anywhere near as familiar with the Rampart Street station in Los Angeles. Anyone over the age of 40 who lived in LA at the time like myself will attest to the rampant criminal activity coming out of that division. It was the real stuff of which many police procedural dramas were spawned not to mention a few feature films. Planting evidence was as routine as removing said evidence from the locker rooms and sold on the streets six months later, murder for hire was as easy as a seemingly routine traffic stop or a cartel drug lord, an off duty detective, or the Chief of Staff to the Mayor.
It hasn't improved in the last 30 years.

Reality Check JD... in today's environment, military and especially para-military organizations like the police force are very attractive and compelling to people already inclined towards authoritarianism and those people tend to be more like the douche-bag with the body-cam.

The good thing about all this is that the public at large respects the police and sides with them when cases go to trial.

Numerous instances of cops comfortably doing fucked up shit is a cause for concern. It's indicative of an institution failing in its mission. And this particular institution is given wide latitude in how it exerts control over citizens, so yea - it's a big fucking problem. I mean, it'd be a novel fucking concept if we could pick and choose which cops we wanted to comply with, wouldn't it?
