Adressing the deficit, Obama just said, "The reckless fiscal policies of the past have left us in a very deep hole, and digging our way out of it will take time, patience and some tough choices."

This has to be one of the stupidest metaphors, although it reflects his mentality.

If you are in a hole, you don't dig yourself out.  You stop digging and climb out.

He wants to spend more (dig more) to get out of the hole.  When he gets to China, he can pay what we owe them.

That sounds more Reaganesque than Bushist.

BHO is clearly continuing to dig and even faster than the GOP did. He can’t stop digging because he does not want to emerge back at the same point at which we entered the hole. I truly believe that he thinks he will indeed extricate himself and his power base (and he hopes the country) by digging to another entrance to “the hole”. Where he emerges (if at all) will be far far away from the place at which we entered the hole. PLUS he’s doing his best to cave in the tunnel back to the original entrance so that it can never be used again.

Phil, you need to pace yourself. There will be plenty of more juicy stuff further down the road, and I'm concerned that you won't make it even through his first four years before peetering out. Plus, there are fewer and fewer of us older white guys, and we are losing power at an alarming rate. No sense getting the blood-pressure all jacked up for prolonged periods, and diminishing life expectancy for the small stuff.:)

Although I am getting up there in years, I go to the gym, and am very active.

As long as you-know-who keeps saying stupid things, I can keep up, at least on the key board.

Now, just answer two things:  Wasn't that a stupid comment?  Would such a dumb comment have made the late night talk shows under the other guy?

Over the last couple of years I have attempted to watch his show on a few occasions. I have never managed to get more than five or ten minutes into his show without the bile rising into the back of my throat. He has got to be the most hateful, vile personality on TV, and that includes the likes of Hannity.

anyone that would out someone is bad news in my book.

Truth be told, before Bush was elected I actually enjoyed watching Bill Maher. Something happened to him, just like many other libs after Bush was elected. He became so bitter and so hateful that he seemed to have lost all perspective, not to mention all humor where it came to the Republican party. In a way he reminds me of Kerrakles. Kerrakles was not always as the bitter partisan hack that he is today, I don't know what happened over the last few months, but obviously something happened that took all objectivity away from him.

capitalist's lackeys. All of you pseudo capitalists, capitalist apologists and capitalist sympathizers that post here have a dismal task in differentiating between them. Its like pointing out the differences between mutt dogs by analyzing their feces.
