DID  approve Trump for a state gaming license in 2004 – and the vote was unanimous, I might add.

          As to Trump’s “ties with the mob,” virtually every major Manhattan developer in the 1980s had “ties to the mob” by your reasoning bc the “mob” controlled one of the major concrete companies, some of the unions, and some other construction firms. Simply contracting with one of these firms, or using union labor, or having Roy Cohn as your attorney,  does not give you any real connection with the mob, and certainly nothing illegal. Nor does paying for –gasp – “overpriced concrete” – give any concern.  All you need to do is read the first paragraph of your article to see that this guy has nothing on Trump after covering him for 27 years.  

         If Trump truly had “ties to the mob” in any real sense, he would never have received both a New Jersey and a Nevada gaming license.

       There are endless reasons to criticize Trump as a presidential candidate – but this is not one of them
