Richard Grennell’s response to Senator Murphy’s (D-CT) Saturday post on X:

He survived an assassination attempt.
His wife was completely shaken by it.
His children are nervous about it happening again.

Stop. Please stop this.

It’s going to make someone try again.

He isn’t running on the promise of violence. When you say this someone thinks it means they have to take him out
Senator Murphy’s vile post:
He doesn’t denounce the bomb threats. This is a candidate explicitly running on the promise of political violence

Re: She never once mentioned Trump. Another lie by Lester. I can’t keep up anymore. Eom
The implication was absolutely that she would kill trump in the elevator and then kackles uproariously about it!

The whole liberal audience and Ellen were rolling in the aisles laughing their asses off about killing Trump.
.
Leftist violence has been normalized for decades now.
.
They don't even recognize it in themselves.  They only see it in "the others."

Ellen: "If you had to be stuck in an elevator with either President Trump, Mike Pence or Jeff Sessions, who would it be?"
.
Kamala "Does one of us have to come out alive?"
.
Kamala, Ellen and entire audience: (prolonged cackling laughter)

Tell me who. You must have been hurt to have such a warped outlook on people not like you. She was laughing Lester. Joking. Do you ever do any of these things? You hold Dems to a standard no one could live up to but you hold Trump to no standard. Think J6 Lester. The Capitol was attacked. Many police officers hurt. Your side called them "sightseers." Trump is saying he will pardon them. Who normalized violence Lester?

But, really, Fester, are you always this easily triggered? Is your sense of injury this extreme?

Senator Murphy posted his vile tweet less than 48 hours before the assassination attempt. The Democrats have consistently portrayed Trump as “bad as Hitler”. Their continued references to violence and stopping Trump “at all costs” have created an atmosphere conducive to assassination attempts by the public.

This wasn't some "leftist" out to take out a righty president. You well know these things tend to be much more complicated then you are making them seem. What we know about this guy is very muddled and mixed at best. He has made multiple pro-Republican, anti-Democratic posts, and that is per the right wing NY Post. The Post chose NOT to politicize this assassination attempt like Lester did, among others here, as they actually did a good job of providing facts re: this nut that placed him on both sides of the political aisle.
.
Btw, Trump routinely calls Kamala a "communist." Thats isn't one of his surrogates, it isn't a Republican "senator", its the candidate himself, the former president of the US, calling his opponent a communist, with all the horrid, anti-human and anti-democracy meaning that that label carries. Literally NO ONE on your side here EVER says anything about that.

As the Times put it: "Former President Donald J. Trump on Monday morning claimed “inflammatory language” from Democrats had provoked what the authorities are investigating as an assassination attempt against him, urging his rivals to tone down their speech even as he called them the “enemy from within” and “the real threat.”
"Over the past year, the former president has likened his political opponents to “vermin” that he pledged to “root out” and described the left as an “enemy from within”
Also, "he has suggested that some of his opponents should be subject to military tribunals for treason; urged his supporters to “go after” the New York attorney general, whose office filed a lawsuit against him for fraud; and said that Democrats are destroying the country."
Trump has zero standing to complain about language.

He rode down that elevator on 2015. His whole campaign has always been about fear. Look who get death threats Wandrea Moss and her mother, Ruby Freeman got. They were the Georgia poll workers who had to hide.
The Governor and the Sec of state of Michigan got threatening emails. Poll workers are fearful of working the polls. Now trump sends out a "I hate Taylor Swift" on his social media platform. How soon before she starts to get loonies after her?The list could go on and on, it's what trumps does, fear and intimidate.
So please with its the Dems,

of the democrats.  It's the terminology they use.   I have no problem with someone saying, "He's a threat to democracy and must be beaten in November", but when they say,  "He's a threat to democracy and must be eliminated", it's a call to arms for the mentally unbalanced to assassinate him.   What else is "eliminate" supposed to mean when referring to a political opponent?

His lies about Springfield have spawned bomb threats. His lies about Aurora have been just as bad.
But CDL is fine with all that.
The hypocrisy of Republicans is both blatant and rich.

that is as inflammatory as Dems saying he should be "eliminated."  Eliminated means dead to most people.

Trump suggested in an online post that Gen. Mark Milley, the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, deserved to face the death penalty. In California, he called for shoplifters to be shot on sight. Criticizing former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., during the same speech, he mockingly asked how Pelosi’s husband was doing, referring to the violent attack on Paul Pelosi last year during a home invasion by an assailant authorities say was steeped in Trump’s election conspiracy theories.
He has mulled shooting illegal border crossers in the legs and offered to pay the legal fees of people who roughed up protesters that disrupted his 2016 campaign rallies. And as for the upcoming election, he said:
"Now, if I don't get elected, it's going to be a bloodbath for the whole — that's going to be the least of it. It's going to be a bloodbath for the country. That will be the least of it."
Oh, and then there's Jan. 6. And don't cite the "peacefully and patriotically" quote. That's the mob boss in him speaking. The rest of that speech incited violence.
