Lets Debunk a common Lefty talking point?

Soooo lefties on this board routinely blame Trump for every COVID death that ever happened.  Ok so here's my question?  and I am even going to give you all the benefits of hindsight how would you have done things differntly? Convince me that you could have done better than Trump?  

Your argument has to be cogent and the plan workable.

Let's hear it Monday morning quarterbacks? How would you have done it differently?

1) When I found out (as Trump did) in Feb. 2020 that Covid was mainly airborne and FAR more deadly than the flu I would have warned Americans, told them to wear masks, worn one myself, mobilized US industries to make more masks and other PPE.
2) I'd have mandated people maintain social distancing and urge them to listen to the CDC re indoor gatherings, etc.
3) Unlike Trump I would NOT have told Americans Covid would be gone in a few weeks.
There, that was easy. I just saving thousands of lives.

Ok were pegging Inickys response to begin in February, any particular day? Also the distance for social distancing what would you have chosen and based on what?

As for telling the public at large that this was going to be bad? When would you have started this and how would you have handled the press that was at the time telling everyone that this was nothing and you're being racist and alarmist for saying that COVID was even remotely a thing.

I wont blame Trump for EVERY death, but he is certainly at fault for many of them. Him telling us Covid was no big deal, at the same time telling Bob Woodward it was a serious and deadly disease, was the height of incompetence and malfeasance.

The Press was telling us COVID was not big deal in the beginning and calling anyone trying to raise the alarm Racist and fear mongrers. I honestly feel Trump was trying to tamp down panic. This country is not prepared for most disasters.  Heck just look at the Toilet Paper and food hoarding that went on.

Which protected us from potential viruses.It gave us early detection. When trump closed that down, we lost our seat at the table and left us vulnerable. Hugh mistake.
Now, Lost what would you have done? Pretend it's no big deal or??? Sing "Ob-la-di, ob-la-da Life goes on"?

Now, I know you and all of us are not physician-scientist,epidemiologist or immunologist. We don't know the logistic of what the federal gov can do or can't. So in essence your thread is just you showing your frustration and how everyone dumps on trumps. Yes we are picking on your guy because the buck stopped with him. I don't know what I would have done as I/ we don't have all the data to say what we could have done...
But what would you have done? Don't run and hide so give us your take...

Asked the lefties what THEY would have done differently, and to make their argument coherent.  Instead, they all said what Trump did wrong instead of what they would have done differently.  It shows that you can't even get an honest answer from lefties who are stricken with TDS.

Here's what I would have done;

1. Remember Hindsight, I would have stopped Fauci from pursuing bat coronavirus research done in China paid for by the US government.  END of problem.

Now for everyone whos going to cry that's too simplistic, let's discuss how the virus got into the country and spread.

This article explains how patient zero did EVERYTHING right, the medical response was beyond exemplary. They put the guy in an isolation unit designed to hold EBOLA patients and the contact traced 60 people he had come in contact with and none of them came down with it.  Then cases began to show up in Nursing homes in the Seattle area.  Next came the infamous end of year Ski Association meeting in Sun Valley Idaho. Turns out a couple of the Nursing home workers infected with covid traveled to Sunvalley to attend a wedding. The wedding was co-located in the same venue as the ski association party Djed by DJ Jassy Jeff no less.  So the two groups intermingled and spread covid far and wide. THEN the next day the ski association members went how to almost every state in the union and we were fucked.  

The takeaway from this is nothing we were going to do was going to stem the spread of covid. You can yell masks and lockdowns all you want but the truth is these measures went into effect across most of the county and did not stop the spread. So the assertions that an earlier lockdown would have SAVED LIVES... yeah not happening. The train wreck was coming and there was no stoping it.

The samples and swabs taken from patients with an unusual respiratory disease in Italy in Nov - Dec 2019 were only confirmed to be Covid-19 months later, after the genetic tests became available.

Trump's China travel ban was too little, too late. As implemented, it was totally porous with many exceptions to allow entry. Over 40,000 people entered the US from China in the early days of the travel "ban".  Experts who knew about the Milan, Italy outbreak had recommended shutting down entry from Europe but Trump didn't want to piss off non-Chinese countries.   Trump eventually banned some EU travel weeks later, once again, too little, too late, with a lot of porosity for thousands of travelers coming to the US.

The thing is, Trump received security briefs in January about the extraordinary danger of Covid-19. As he explained to Woodward, he downplayed it because he didn't want to cause a panic.

The travel bans, as implemented, were symbolic only. They were both (China; EU) too little (too porous), too late (infected travelers had probably already been entering the US from China and EU).

Trump "not wanting to cause a panic" is a ridiculous defense as fear-mongering is his stock in trade. Muslim terrorists! Violent immigrants! MS-13! Drugs! Biden will destroy the suburbs! They'll take your guns! Only I can fix it! Only I can fix it! ... Years earlier, Trump bought full page newspaper ads calling for The death penalty for the Central Park 5 ... who were subsequently exonerated.

in reality, a panic is what really needed to happen.  I'm referring to a "controlled panic", where a normal POTUS would calmly inform the nation of the issue, provide constant information on its progress, & give guidance (via scientists & medical professionals) on protective & preventive measures that should be implemented.  People would've been more on board with protecting themselves & others.  The problem was Stump refused to inform the country on the urgency of COVID & what it might do if nothing was done.  He also chose to put a gag order on the scientific & medical communities, instead choosing to advocate instead for Lysol IVs & tanning bulb suppositories.  The results of those decisions speak for themselves.
