Chris Wallace has something there; not only are the 19 ( ! )debates gonna hurt the "GOP brand", but they're causing Romney's #'s to drop, particularly among independents who decide elections. Hell----even right-wing radio talk show host Laura Ingraham thinks Romney is gonna lose against Obama.

It's just like watching film of your opposition in sports, by the time the ultimate GOP nominee gets to face Obama, he will have already used his best stuff and Obama will have had months to prepare for it.

Yes, very poor strategy indeed IMO.

Perhaps if you could communicate legibly ( which is asking a great deal ) people would know WTF you're talking about.

The only thing I'm tired of looking at ( along with many others on the board ) is you---:)

However, some on this board will be happy to hear that I AM hiatus bound for awhile----about to take long planned L.A. trip to scope out my buds & "old haunts". Hopefully, the board can carry on without me-----;)

Lastly, nitwit, it's spelled "existent"-----:)

Rick Perry and Michelle Bachmann were hurt by their debate appearance. The mutual attacks hurt the Republican brand. A candidate who has a clear message and in depth knowledge of the issues can benefit. I think Ron Paul and Santorum benefitspost because they have less money and are consistent in their positions. (not that I agree with them)

people think that Obama is going to win?

Romney lost by a big margin four years ago to a guy who was handily defeated in the general election by Obama.

It will take something dramatically life-changing in Washington in the next nine-plus months for the Republicans to defeat the incumbent President. Even if there had only been three or four Republican debates. I have always believed that the large number of debates was overkill, but the TV networks need the programming . . .

...and challengers are always at a disadvantage. This is one of the key reasons why they are.

But the number of debates was a real mistake for the GOP. I'm quite glad they've had them, because it's shown the American public just how crazy the modern GOP is.

from the things really going on, like the world dropping the petro dollar, and the dollar in bilateral trade deals..

Not even a whisper of that, but you got plenty of republican debates to watch..

It's sad really, that anyone still watches their junk..

Look at the scum the GOP has put up against Obama, if this doesn't prove the whole system is a game, nothing will..

OBVIOUSLY the GOP doesn't want to win, or they'd pick a winner, but they can't, because they don't want it, because BOTH the left and the right are in bed with the bankers both parties have the exact same agenda

What he meant to say is "GOP debates are making the Republican nominees look stupid." Personally, I think the more debates among all candidates, the better. I want to see how well a candidate can defend his position and articulate his vision (assuming he has one). People just LOVED Rick Perry until he opened his mouth in his first debate. It's not enough for a candidate to hide behind a catch phrase like "I'll hire really smart people to advise me".
