Scott Pruitt shows how stupid he really is.

At least he now admits the global climate change is real.  But he question why thats a bad thing.  He questions how bad could it ne in 2100?

Lets start off with no more Florida.  Probably a good thing when you consider all those internet memes that start out with “a Florida man” doing something terribly stupid trying to kiss a gator and ends up getting eaten alive.  This is descriptive of Pruitt at any rate.

But how about no water in most of North America?  South Africa is experiencing this now.  How about the Eastern Seaboord starting ten miles inland from where it is now?  How about a global financial meltdown and an American refugee crisis on the Canadian border?

Sure these are extreme possibilities, but not ruled out by the Pentagon studies that found Global Warming to be the biggest threat to national security in this century.

to sail above it all, in! Like the story, in the Bible, about Noah's arch, the ultra rich will sail away, and land on higher solid ground.

*necessarily* a bad thing. It could be a good thing, right?  Just think of the values of todays' almost water view properties 30 years from now. That's gonna be a win for a lot of people, right?
.
And, probably, the best thing is to do, now,  absolutely nothing---I mean, just because nearly every climate scientist in the world has come to a similar conclusion, it's not like we need to go trying to be environmentally responsible for no good reason.

I'm sorry, I thought the "science was settled" and we were going to die if we didn't act? That is what the CLP's (Chicken Little Party) has been telling us for some time now.

Do you know something they don't know, or are you just as confused as I am with so many of the climate models contradicting themselves time and time again? Hmmmm...

Thats ok, Jinx. I am sure the CLP's (formerly known as the DNC) will come out with a forceful statement soon on GW to make you a believer again:

Pruitt has used taxpayer funds to purchase first-class airfare and spend nights at luxury hotels more often than his predecessors.  He brings a larger group of aides with him on trips, he usually flies first or business class on international and domestic trips, and he often flies Delta Airlines even though the government has contracts with certain airlines on specific routes.

One trip to Rome for Pruitt and his entourage of aides, which included a ride from a White House event in Cincinnati to New York in a military jet, cost at least $90,000, excluding the cost of his security detail's 24/7 support.

Who cares?  Let them spend what they want.  They'll make it up by cutting Medicare, Social Security, Welfare and Food Stamps.

Maybe you know something the rest of us don’t.  I’m not aware of any climate change models that contradict themselves or another.  There are literally hundreds if not thousands of predictable outcomes based on the science, but yeah as we learn more, the possibilities change, none of them for better which is apparently what Pruitt is trying to push.

Climate change does not require “belief”.   It’s not a faith based concept.  It is a scientifically demonstrable fact.  So it is merely recognition or ignorance that is required.  It’s obvious which one of those choices  you’ve made.

Or, how he understands science, he may as well be! ;)

The 2nd time ( at least) that you’ve posted this. Jack, again, just because the few democrats who spoke immediately in response to T’s SOTU address didn’t spend their time on climate change does not, somehow, translate to: nobody cares about climate change.

Jeepers, even Scott Pruit the science denier from OKLA who is now, alarmingly, running the EPA, can even admit that climate change is actually a thing and humans are contributing. The fact that he suggests this might be a good thing for humans is disturbing. But, I guess we have to take progress where we can get it.
.
Per Scott: "I think there's assumptions made that because the climate is warming, that that necessarily is a bad thing. Do we really know what the ideal surface temperature should be in the year 2100? In the year 2018? I mean it's fairly arrogant for us to think that we know exactly what it should be in 2100."
.
Assumptions, indeed.
.
Hey Scott!! If you’re not sure of the answer you happen to be in luck. Every industrialized country in the world, including US scientists at NASA and national research laboratories, and universities have some really smart environmental scientists who have been researching this question for decades. You could always…hmmm……I don’t know… ask them?
.
Or, at a very minimum, at least stay out of the way and let them do their job instead of deliberatly shutting down scientific inquiry. You'd think the guy was afraid someone might find out the earth is round.

Trips compared to welfare, medicare and medicaid, and all the other entitlements, and that is a good word entitled. Very similar to privileged, except for poor people. Different sides of the same coin.

OMG are you intentionally lazy or is it your religion?

Please stop speaking in absolutes as that only makes your side look nuttier on this topic than it already is. Of COURSE some of the possibilities are for the better. Only a person so steeped in "faith" would say otherwise.

And of COURSE GW relies on "belief" as they are making predictions about future events. Remember when the models told us that the California drought situation would NEVER get better and ONLY get worse? Ahem.

Guess what Jinx. IT GOT BETTER. lmao

I found it quite ironic that as his career got more and more successful, he in turn got less and less angry. I think the only time he is angry today is when loser libs try to steal all of the money he earned honestly.

Somehow I have to believe our resident Angry Black men" have never acheived even a modicum of success, which is why they seem to get angrier every day. There are a handful of us who have earned the right to talk shit on the internet all day. Jake is retired as I believe are both Matt and BPS, I own my own company and I can post all day if I want to as I am the boss, but lets look at a couple of the other "board blabbermouths" who are almost always angry, fg and LTM&L are the first two that come to mind. Does ANYONE believe that either of these losers are posting on this board all day because they are financially independent??? lmao

There are of course variations of the same theme, but that is not contradiction.  I guess you didn’t actually read the article you linked other than the headline.  What the article says is that thanks to the Paris Accords and China’s leadership in compliance, carbon emissions slowed and we may now have more time to further reduce and address global warming.

While it is too soon to tell, snowpack in the Sierra is at roughly 25% of where it should be this time of year so it does look like California may be headed back into a drought.

And lastly, you may choose to “believe” in a scientific fact, but smart people simply accept them as proven.  Only Trumthumpers like yourself feel the need to conflate science with religion.
