William Blum's Killing Hope. Quite possibly the single most depressing book ever written, at least for an American who doesn't like his tax dollars going to kill innocent people.

If you're not interested in reading such a long book, you could try Noam Chomsky's What Uncle Sam Really Wants. Take note of what we train our "freedom fighters" to do to infants in South America. Yes, barbed wired is an effective tool to prevent the spread of "communism".

I doubt there is much of anything Willy and I agree on, but we at least keep a level of respect for each other and in doing so happen to actually have some good debates. Religion and Politics, you generally are not going to change anyone's mind, but if you can at least make them pause and think, that is a good debate.

Here Snow posts a perfectly rational, civil, and polite response. Everything he said to Laffy was dead on accurate.

Laffy could have read Snow's post, taken it in, and thought about his behavior, but instead he just reflexively feels like he has to defend himself by trying (and failing) to dismiss the quality of Snow's character.

I think Laffy's biggest problem is that he's probably not old enough to buy booze. The poor fuck is so insecure about himself, that he's gotta respond to everyone that mildly irritates him by calling them HitlerThumperPalinNazis.

This goes beyond Laffy not being able to be friendly with anyone here. Laffy's also never been able to bring up a topic, or formulate an argument that requires more than half a dozen brain cells rubbing together.

One could ask Laffy what he thinks about immigration policy. His response would be "righties are hitlernazis"

If you said, "well, I'm concerned with how immigration is affecting unemployment rates", his response would be "(rolllllllllleyes) Bwahahahahahahahah!!!! righties are hitlernazis"

I've struggled not to say this before, but I think Laffy's biggest problem is that he's dumber than dogshit. I've met high school dropouts that could outwit Laffy...even after puking all over themselves going on a three day drinking binge.

I imagine the only book he owns is probably Obama's Dreams of My Father, and he probably didn't make it past page 12, because reading is "hard".

Laffy probably tried to do volunteer work for Obama's re-election, but they told him "we can't send you knocking on people's doors. We're trying to win votes, not lose them". So instead he figured he'd just campaign for Obama on a fuck board. And now that the election is over, he doesn't want to face the music. His mom keeps telling him to fill out that employment application for Wal-Mart, and he doesn't wanna do it.

Poor Laffy. He's under the delusion that he has friends here.
