Two predictions that were anticipated by all news outlets including Fox that didn't pan out. You guys are just losing all credibility on this board.
It will be July 1st then and thus ending the most embarrassing single month of just not their existence, but probably the worst month of any MSM organization in U.S. history.
"The Most Trusted Name In News?" Hardly...
It's a race to the bottom and the only thing left unanswered is whether they or WaPo will hit rock bottom first.
If they thought it would get ratings. Oh wait that actually happened.
It’s not like CNN is a 24/7 cable news outfit. No wait, actually they are.
But that does not excuse using one anonymous source for a story. No respectable news organization would do that. No, wait, the New York Times will publish based on one anonymous source, so long as an editor knows his identity and vets him. Its pretty standard.
But I agree with you and your article that using one anonymous source is just so bad. And that’s why those Woodward and Bernstein guys never made it after using one anonymous source for much of their Watergate coverage.
I think you are on to something here, Jack. Two errors in a month? Ironically, that would be be your best posting month Jack, but then that's another topic. LOL.
At least of Fox's Howard Kurtz!
Of course he didn't mention anything about FOX News:
At least at CNN, there are consequences for getting it wrong. I guess Hannity makes Fox too much money to kick him to the curb! ![]()
24/7 cable news amounted to a 24hr ad for Cherrios
This just in, breaking news, the other network isn't news.
I keep forgetting that Rach over at PMSNBC doesn't cover these stories at all so I guess I cant blame you for not knowing what is common knowledge.
How about we check out the timeline, ok?
June 7th...CNN reports that Comey will testify under oath that Trump was under investigation by the FBI. Comey actually testified Trump was NOT under investigation.
June 15th...CNN reports that Donald Trump did NOT go to the hospital to visit Republican congressman Steve Scalise after the shooting at the Republican softball practice. Sadly for CNN's crack staff, they reported this AFTER Trump had ALREADY visited Scalise.
June 16th...CNN reports that prior to the Democrat vs Republican softball game, ONLY the Democrats got together to pray. That was news to even the Dems that were there, as they took a knee next to their Republican brethren and all prayed together.
June 26...CNN reports a story that the Treasury Department and Senate Intelligence Committee are probing a Russian investment fund with ties to several senior finance leaders close to President Trump. It took Breitbart, ahem, let me say that again...it took BREITBART less than 24 hours to debunk the story, forcing CNN to retract it in humiliation.
June 27...Project Veritas releases an undercover video of a CNN producer stating that "the president is probably right to say, like, look you are witch hunting me" with regards to the Russia/Trump collusion "scandal."
June 28...CNN makes a statement on the Project Veritas piece standing by their producer but not denying any part of the story whatsoever.
Now, that I have completely debunked your two "errors" (ahem) in a month nonsense, lets see what the aforementioned Bob Woodard said just 4 days prior to CNN's horrific month:
Looks like CNN didn't take that advice, huh bro? LOL
H’mm, 29% of statements fact checked on Fox rated “false.” Ten percent get the “Pants on Fire “ ruling. Want to extrapolate that? – pretty scary, right.
Now, let’s look at CNN. Only 14% false and 4% pants on fire. Frankly, I was surprised CNN was that low given the amount of air time they give to Trump supporters.
Now I ‘m going to plug in your claim of “the worst month of any MSM organization in US history.”
And it looks like Pants on Fire again!
Maybe media criticism is not the best field for you. And be careful with all that "debunking" - you might hurt yourself.
PAY ATTENTION! We are talking about CNN's NEWS division making grossly inaccurate and fake news statements week after week to bring down a presidency, not what Anderson Cooper hyperventilates or what Don Lemon spews!!!! Good god what an epic fail!
And the fact that you didn't challenge ANY of my many listed CNN fuck ups I pointed to in just THIS month is just icing on my cake!
Seriously, you know I respect you, but this just might be your worst defense of a post you have ever made and you have made some doozies bro. LOL
Look on the bright side...YOU ACTUALLY MADE MY NIGHT!!!!!!! ![]()
the difference between a journalist and a commentator.
The Harvard study is revealing, 93% of CNN reporting on Trump was negative with only 7% positive. How can CNN seriously claim unbiased reporting of the facts with numbers like that? The good news is that everyone sees through their BS.
Like the one he started on the General board yesterday. He thoroughly embarrassed himself and now it's gone. He was the only one who would have wanted it to disappear.
And as for CNN, it's true they are woefully biased against Trump. Earth-shattering news.
Admin must have pulled that one. Not me. You actually missed my last post to you! Lol.
We all know that CNN is biased. But now they were called out on it and exposed. It's fun to watch.
Everyone knows that CNN is biased, but Jake is one of the few lefties that will admit to it. Good luck trying to get any other lefty to admit to this. The closest you will get from them to an admission is an accusation that Fox is even more biased.
Bias is ripping the R health plan while not mentioning or doen playing the good parts of it. While that isn't "fair", especially for a news organization that prides itself on its "centrism", like Jake said, it isn't shocking.
My issue is CNN's corruption. They go out there, day after day after day and have stories instantly shot down by the conservative media, tells me their editing and source verification process is severely flawed.
You would thought that CNN, and WaPo, would be very concerned about their rep and would have had a major meeting with all its internal, investigative staff to cut out, or severely limit, how stories are being disseminated to the public and double and triple source their work, but they just don't seem to care anymore.
These aren't "mistakes". Not with the number of fuck ups we are talking about in such a short period of time.
Every news organization has retractions, that is true, but 5 or 6, ALL against R's and Trump, in THREE weeks from the SAME entity??? No. CNN is too good, at least it USED to be, to all of sudden be this bad. Something else is clearly at play here.
Every leak they get, they should be highly skeptical of because we now know these leaks are from partisans, or anti-Trumpers, with an agenda, trying to bring down Trump based on innuendo and out right lies.
In Woodward's day, one sourced pieces worked because Woodward trusted the sources and Woodward was a man of integrity. If a source burned him, he would retrace his steps so he wasnt embarrassed with his next story. This is juts common sense. Something CNN forgot? Doubtful. lol
How could CNN run with these stories time after time getting burned by all their sources and NOT make major, fundamental changes internally tells me all I need to know.
One wonders how far the corruption goes. I very likely could be wrong, but given that CNN has got great ratings now covering the Russian thing, I wonder if they are in some way encouraging leaks to drip out so as to keep it "in the news" so they can keep it the focus of their shows and continue the great ratings.
And their ratings have fallen back down to earth as the Russia story seems to be fading from its blistering. hyperventilating and partisan pace.
Not sure if you saw my link earlier in the week but CNN now third in the ratings again. Fox back on top. lol
a president, who attacks the press, by calling them the enemy of the people, for reporting his lies! Get your priorities straight, Jack!
You haven't YET made a statement in this thread criticizing CNN for their corruption, in fact, you have done the opposite.
Are you capable of admitting the obvious truth about CNN or do you just want to divert to Fox again and avoid it?
taken to correct the journalist errors, you mentioned, that they made. ![]()
One would have to go to the National Enquirer to see such journalistic integrity that CNN has shown. LOL
I originally didn't think you could be honest about this and now you have proven those assumptions were correct.
![]()
Journalists make mistakes. Some of them honest, some not so much. If a news organization takes corrective action, like firing those who were guilty, writing retractions, etc., those seems to be reasonable responses, whether it be CNN, Fox or Breitbart. Once again, you are like a dog that's chewed on his bone too long. It's lost all it's flavor. Where is your righteous indignation for liars in the White House and right-wing media!
Of course, I don't mind that, since I hate Trump, too. But I don't pretend to be fair and balanced. Of course, Faux Nooz does, even though they don't use that tag line any more.
was just infomercials selling Trump! ![]()
That’s not a good matchup for you. I believe your post refers only to "CNN" and your quickly debunked claim is that it was the worse month of any MSM organization.
Now I can understand why you want to back up the truck after seeing the true facts.
But even if we change it to the “CNN News Division” that does not change things, does it? The Truth O Meter
“shows the ratings for statements made on air by Fox, Fox News and Fox Business personalities and their pundit guests. Rulings do not include statements made on air by politicians or paid spokespeople.”
So the “news divisions” of both networks are covered.
Mary and the 'Ratt couldn't take on your facts about FNN so they ran to Fox News faster than Taffy runs to the church at meal time! Ha ha ha ha!!!! Me thinks you set them up the libtards with that first post and they couldn't help but step on the dog shit!! MAGA is destroying their world and all the snowflakes can do here is MELT! MAGA!!!!!!
