A sad part about the stalemate is, some of it is about social agenda riders that have no reason to be added.

the real budget  battle will be the next round. In November the Republicans are intorducing a bill proposal to actually balance the budget

4 TRILLION IN CUTS!!!

And the Dems are call several billion draconian.

This will be the platform they will be running on which is why they are waiting until november. They will be running against government spending....

Not a bad plan.

First of all, the total cuts in the Republican plan aren't $4 Trillion, they're $5.8 Trillion.  These include gutting Medicare for anyone under 55 while at the same time doing nothing about Social Security, which is a much bigger problem.
But that's not all.  There's also more tax cuts for the rich!  The top rate for individuals and corporations would drop from 35% to 25%, while ending certain tax breaks, but still reducing tax revenues from those brackets by $4 Trillion.  All these figures are from the House Budget Committee, which is controlled by the Republicans.  So no one is distorting the figures.
What a plan!

but at least SOMEONE IS ADDRESSING THE DEBT ISSUE....

BTW, I find it funny how every citizen when exceeding their own budget has to cut, but for liberals when the government exceeds its budget, it is ok to just take.

Let's see the Dems come up with some REAL cuts!!!

I agree with you that the Dems now need to come up with something credible.  As bad as I think the Reps plan is, it gives them no choice and thus has served its purpose.
