5 months after the grand GOP victory of 2010, Republicans are already looking a little glum. Maybe their chances will improve if they put the crazy back in the box.

"Hows that restaurant owner in Wis doing?" lol

You quote an obvious partisan hack job as a "source", this is almost as good as quoting yourself as a source.

Let me ask you Willy, are you deliberately trying to lose every bit of credibility you ever had here?

BTW I also doubt that Obama will lose in 2012, but that doesn't change the fact that you are a man with no sense of honor or truth. Half truths, lies of omission or just plain bald faced fucking lies, you leave no stone of dishonesty unturned.

I may have to start sending Marikod my donation to the Willyholics fund again. It appears that since liorr and ben are gone that you feel that there is a void to be filled, it would be so nice if this board could go "troll-less" for more than a day or two at a time.

GaGa, you go overboard on poor Willy.  The article's not a "lie," it's just worthless, wishfull thinking.  But the stuff Willy posts, at least in this case, is no less bankrupt than a lot of the self-serving bullshit posted by right wingers on this board.
I, too, think Obama will win in 2012 but I admit it's very speculative, totally premature and part wishful thinking.  The one reason for believing it is the lack of a strong Republican contender.  I don't believe any of the current crop (crap?), meaning Gingrich, Romney, Pawlenty, Huckabee, Palin or Bachmann can win.  I can't even think of another potential contender who could.  Obama certainly has his vulnerabilities, but he is , so far, very fortunate in his opponents.

Willy rather dubious relationship with the truth aside. I happen to agree that it is unlikely, barring a complete economic meltdown that any of the "usual suspects" can grab the hearts and imagination of the voting public to unseat a sitting POTUS.

Right now I think that Romney would lose by the closest margin, but he would still lose. My only rational for that thinking is that Romney is among the most likely to be able to win the nomination without completely selling out to the far right, which means IMO that he would be the most likely to be able to make his way back to center for the GE, but WTF do I know? The election is a long way off and a lot can happen.

and don't be surprised if due to some strange confluence of events, that Obama doesn't find more of his problems from within his own party, the odds are still long, but don't discount it entirely. The bookmakers naturally have Obama as the odds on favorite to win the nomination, but even Hillary is not "off the board", she was less than a ten to one underdog the last time I looked.

I can't see any of the Republican nominees surviving the circle firing squad (Republican primaries) without a significant amount of blood letting, especially the Tea Party candidates going after the more centrist candidates like Romney or Huntsman, may be even more vicious than usual.

First of  all, he's a bland "face man" who looks like a Ken Doll and comes across like an empty suit.  I think he's better than that, but his real problem is getting through the primaries, where he'll be portrayed as a Big-Government, pro-Obama's health care stooge because he wisely passed health care legislation in Mass.  There is no way he can run away from it, and the rest of the field will pile on him for that.  Short of disavowing his record, which would be just as bad because it would make him look like a weasel, there's nothing he can do.
As for Hilary, it's just my opinion but she'll never run unless so many things go wrong for Obama that he becomes as weak as LBJ was in 1968.  Those odds of that happening are so long as to be almost impossible.

& this may be one of those times. But as for trolls, he has nothing on F_U & Holey ; in addition to behaving like a pair of regressive morons on this board, you should check their threads supporting Terry Jones.

A pair of fucking idiots.

...I'm actually a big fan of Snow. He's one of the few die hard conservatives here who's willing to have a civil debate from time to time. Granted, it's been a while now since that's happened, but I haven't given up hope on him yet. Regardless, he's a pretty good guy.

I posted a link of an article that quotes GOP strategists lamenting their prospects in 2012. They're further discouraged by the birther factor. How is this off the rails?

I think the bone of contention ( at least from GaG ) was that you cited a far left leaning link.

Willy , for what it's worth, even though I always don't agree with you, I certainly don't think you're a troll. You're too bright for that. On the other end of political spectrum, same applies to Mein.

Now, as for Holey & F_U-----------

not to mention the times he just pulls outlandish shit right out of his ass.

It's rare when Willy reaches "troll status", but there is no question that he has little regard for the truth if he can find a link that will support an argument that he sides with. His utter disregard for the facts make it virtually impossible to have a discussion with. In short, the man is a fucking liar, and I have no respect for him.

But you make it sound like he's the only one who does it, which is far from the truth.  Lots of people on the right post ridiculous crap, too.  And you've actually called them on it.  Willy, IMO, is no worse than they are.

GaGambler1133 reads

Of all the current posters on this board, I can't think of a single one who has less regard for the truth than Willy, and that includes both right and left wing nutjobs, of which we have no shortage of.

I won't go so far as to say he is the worst that has ever posted here, but IMO he is the biggest offender of all current posters.

I guess you'll say the stuff he posts isn't lies, just the ravings of a paranoid?

the context of that persona. His posts are neither lies nor paranoid ravings, although sometimes he is wildly inaccurate.

are another man's paranoid ravings.  But only Willy lies, right?

he could very well be as bad as WW, but his rantings are just backround noise to me.

Another thing both Willy and Mein share in common, neither of them are stupid. I believe Mein just goes off his meds every once in a while, where Willy is just a liar who will intentionally misrepresent the facts to support an unsupportable positition.

I know the end result is the same, but those are my reasons for considering Willy the worse of the two.

Op Ed pieces are, by definition, opionion.  But they are supposed to be -- and often are -- based on facts.  So it depends on which one you choose to prove a point.

Willy won't have to work  and he can post all day long.

But here's the bet - will there be any difference? Which side do you want?

I'm posting while watching Butler throw up miss after miss after miss. Shit, I bet you can at least make one 3 pointer in 10 shots.

I realize you are being funny with your post, since willy currently doesn't work and posts all day long. So a govt shutdown will have no effect. Actually I would be OK w/a govt shutdown just so he doesn't get paid

besides I am out of the country, and can stay that way for a few months if neccesary. lol

I am glad I left last nights game alone, I had no idea which way I was going to bet, but either way I would have hooked up my side bet with the over, which wasn't even close. I would have needed triple overtime at least to get to 129 points.

then I'll probably post less. It'll give me a chance to catch up on yard work.

Probably a closet with ultra violet lights and a drip system.

...but I grow my own food. I've talked about it before. John was the one who got me into this. I did a test run last year of a few tomatoes and peppers. This year I'm growing big boy and yellow pear tomatoes, pablomo, bell, and ceranno peppers, watermelon, honeydew, cucumbers, tomatillos, eggplant, and green beans. All done organically, much of it with compost from yard clippings. Such an expansion will require setting up a drip irrigation system, and I still need to get my grapes, strawberries, and blueberries going, so I will have fresh fruit for my wine making.

Eventually, I'm going to turn my entire back yard into an organic farm. I have some land I'm not using, why not put in a little work to lower my grocery bill by providing myself better tasting healthier food than can be bought at a grocery store? I might start selling food at the local farmer's market too if all goes well, or just give the surplus away to neighbors.

My bet says willy posts less on his days off.
I'm speculating  he's the kind of guy who knows he deserves more, and  getting  over on the man is merely claiming what he's due.
The  employee who uses sick days when not needed, just because they have accumulated.
