But Carter's greatest contributions have been as perhaps our best ex-President, building houses for the poor and promoting voting rights around the world. A thoroughly decent man and a great American.

more for his Post-Presidential charitable activities than his time as President, which was unremarkable by comparison, except for the Camp David accords.  Most ex-presidents spend their retirement form politics lining their pockets with speaking fees.  Carter donated his time to non-profits, which makes him a notable exception.  Perhaps there is a connection between giving to those in need and living to be 100?  Or is it just a confirmation that growing up eating peanuts is good for you.  Lol
