Fox News host Jeanine Pirro on Tuesday said President Donald Trump’s market-roiling tariffs will lead to a “golden age,” prompting mockery online. (Watch the video below.)

 
Pirro was taking a victory lap as stocks rebounded somewhat before plummeting to another loss. Early Wednesday, China announced it was raising its tariff on U.S. goods to 84% in an escalating trade war amid fears of recession and the likelihood of higher consumer prices for Americans.

 
But it was all rainbows and sunshine in Pirro’s mind.

 
“These tariffs are literally a transition to the golden age,” she said on “The Five” panel show. “The man is negotiating, offering concessions to some countries. And you know what? If you want to retaliate, good luck to you because Donald Trump is not panicked and neither should we be because he’s bringing us to the golden age.”

 
One observer on X called Pirro’s optimism “delusion.” “We need truth, not fantasy,” the person wrote.

 
Another took the crude route, writing:. “She left out ‘...shower...’”
