Here's a real conspiracy nut theory on the CBS fake memo controversy:

It seems that these fake memos coincide rather handily with the "volunteering" of their services by Clintonistas Paul Begala and James Carville with the Coalition of the Whining campaign.  But of course, Begala and Carville are loyal Clintonistas.  One of two outcomes can be expected, in light of the fact that Kerry is going down in flames.  Both theories are predicated on their loyalty to Hitlary.  Let us suppose that Begala and Carville ginned up the phony documents (a federal crime, as they are government documents) to taint the Kerry campaign.  What happens next?

1.  Kerry loses badly in November, in an electoral landslide, clearing the way for Hitlary's 2008 campaign for socialism in one country, or:

2.  (a more outlandish possibility, to be sure) the source of the documents is revealed to be in the Kerry campaign, with the candidate's knowledge.  The scandal is so huge, even the left-wing media can't protect the Poodle, and he's forced to withdraw from the presidential campaign.  In a last desperate gasp at power, the Demoncrat National Committee meets and nominates Hitlary for President.

Gotta admit, it makes you wonder.

Though I would be much more inclined to give credit for this one to Rove.  Its so brilliant I just want to believe Rove was behind it.  But then again you never know.
The 2nd one is a bit too outlandish.  Its just too close to the election for your 2nd possibility.

having to go out of your way and slam Bush, Bushies, conservatives et al.
