With crushing deficits, and runaway spending, who's to say that those type of tough choices might need to be made in the face of allocation of limited resources.
Not to mention the fact that with Government health care in place and the very lives of our citizens at stake, can you imagine the rhetoric that will be thrown around the next time we have a budget crisis that threatens to shut down the government? I can see it now __________wants to kill Grandma by not voting for _________"s budget proposal.
There hard facts are, there is only so much money and at some point either we agree to unlimited taxation, or some services have to get cut. So who gets to decide which patients and which procedures are affordable in a period of economic crisis? I see this as just another blank check for Government.
