It’s been open for two months but may be closing in a few days.  

 
In an email on Aug. 22, Florida Division of Emergency Management Executive Director Kevin Guthrie said:
“We are probably going to be down to 0 individuals within a few days.”

 
FOUR HUNDRED FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS for two months!!!  Talk about waste, fraud, and abuse!!!!

1. It was never meant to be permanent.  Was a temporary holding facility.  

 
2. The only "battle" was because of environmental issues and even those arguments were flimsily at best (res. land) and also still being fought.

 
3. The conditions were better than most prisons in the USA.  Why aren't the congress people complaining about prison conditions?

 
4.  It served its purpose as the border crossings have declined drastically.  

 
5.  Your numbers are wrong only cost the Fed about half that the other was state money.
