It's kind of funny having you respond to a post about a monkey.teeth_smile

I mean monkeys are similar to apes, no?

I thought the McSame crowd would've gotten more mileage out of the Obama lipstick gaffe ...

After all, according to McCain's campaign manager "this campaign isn't about the issues" ...

I sometimes wonder if either side is interested in the issues.

If you really are for Obama, I don't think you want to have this circulating.

For better or worse, we live in sensistive times. I happen to think it is for the worse, but I believe that a lot of the hyper-sesnsitivy was caused by the liberals, which whom political correctness is most associated.

With that said, posting a cartoon that metaphorically portrays any woman as a pig is not too smart.  Try to imagine what would hit the fan if a cartoon was pubished with an image of Obama as an ape.

On the other hand, leave it up and let's see how the ladies react.

Hey libs have been calling our current POTUS a chimp for years.

The cartoon refers to "Pork barrel spending"  ... And if Sarah Palin sees fit to compare hockey moms to pit bulls ... you get the picture...

I am confident the ladies can see the difference.

by your own words you are trying to keep Obama's little gaffe as front page news. Why you would want to is beyond me, as predicted everyone else has moved on.

or more likely it is a-petrov3.

Only PPL knows for sure. I wonder if he's telling? lol

Ok I'll oblige ... enjoy  ...

"Marietta bar owner Mike Norman says the T-shirts he’s peddling, featuring a look-a-like of cartoon chimp Curious George peeling a banana, with “Obama in ‘08″ underneath, are not meant to offend.

Norman acknowledged the imagery’s Jim Crow roots but said he sees nothing wrong with depicting a prominent African-American as a monkey..."

to the bar owner who made these shirts don't you.

McCain & Co. are getting everything they want out of the "gaffe."  For at least one day, the media and the candidates will be talking about whether or not Obama was trying to hurt the little girl's feelings rather than about over 4,000 dead in a pointless war and the shitty economy the republicans caused.

The economy started to take a dump in the later half of 2006 and the beginning of 2007.....Wonder why......does it have anything to do with Pelosi being SOTH or Harry Reid being SML?

It will really turn around, NOT if (God forbid) Comrade Obama is elected and he is successful with his massive wealth distribution program!

yeah, Pelosi started the housing bubble too ...

Everything is partisan politics ...

that line is better suited to 741512's post than the one made by Source.

Everything is only partisan politics to partisans. 741512 is definitely a partisan. FWIW the vote is still out on you as far as I'm concerned, you are definitely a lefty, but I am unsure if you cross the line into partisanship. I guess time and a few hundred more posts will tell.

It was meant as sort of a left handed compliment.

Partisans have no ability to see both sides, and as such there is little purpose in trying to engage them in discussion.

Doc Gonzo and Xiao are both lefties IMO, but neither of them are partisans. I enjoy talking/arguing with both of them. People like Zin,RR and it appears MRB are partisans, they will never admit their party is wrong on even the smallest issue. Debate with them is a waste of time.

I get it   ...

I have no problem debating an issue & respecting another's viewpoint ...

there are definitely kool drinking partisans from the right also, and I have no more respect for them than I do those from the left.

See, I am an equal opportunity asshole.

Those that can't (or won't) see both sides and those that clearly (well ok maybe not 100% clearly) see both sides but still ACT partisan.

I tend to be much more partisan during elections because if you don't win the election you stand no chance of governing. After the election, I'm more critical. There is ZERO love from me for the HUGE spending by the Republicans from 2002 to 2006 (and beyond, i.e. most still don't get it). I'm a conservative not a Republican. The Republicans have just been the closest means to an end. My ideal division of government is total gridlock (split legislative and executive). Although the energy issue needs some action that isn't happening now.
