Kerry: Bush 'Not Qualified' to be Disgusted

(2004-05-07) -- Democrat presidential hopeful, and Vietnam veteran, John Forbes Kerry today said President George Bush is "not fit to be disgusted" at photos of U.S. military prison guards hazing Iraqi prisoners.

The president recently granted two interviews with Arab-language TV networks, telling reporters that he found the actions of the prison guards to be "abhorrent."

But Mr. Kerry immediately held a news conference to challenge the president's credibility on the issue.

"While I was commanding a swift boat in the Mekong Delta, George Bush stayed stateside with the National Guard," said Mr. Kerry. "He never had an opportunity to commit atrocities against the enemy, like I did, so he's not fit to judge the abuses in Abu Ghraib prison. America needs a commander in chief who knows the harsh reality of war and man's inhumanity to man…the darkness that lurks in the soul of even the most cultured, erudite and refined among us."

White House spokesman Scott McClellan said, "Senator Kerry is entitled to his opinion. I think the president was simply reacting to the photos the same way most Americans did."

A spokesman for the Kerry campaign said Mr. McClelland's remarks represent another example of "Bush's right-wing attack dogs questioning Senator Kerry's patriotism."

Later, when asked by a reporter on his campaign plane what he thought when he first saw the prisoner-abuse photos, Mr. Kerry said, "I was disgusted. They were abhorrent."

Got to love this guy!

And your point is?

If you found a real news site to link to rather than a satire site - it was cute the first time but I'm getting the impression that you think this stuff is real.
How about attempting a real dialogue?

When bribri and jimIQ get their GOP/SA brown shirts on- and their Dubya brain meld  mojo going- they tend to think a little more skewed to the right than even normal.  We're trying to get them to go decaf but its one day at a time.

These two weapons of Mass denial are totally in the mould of Hannity- O'whatsisname, Rush Drughead, and whoever is blathering on Fox right now.  Long on rhetoric, short on facts or even a basic understanding of world history.  Chinese food political dialogue- lots of activity- and when you finish- you realize nothing of value has been said. You burped and it seems like it never happened...

They say that one ought to stay out of a war of wits if one is unarmed. Perhaps these two guys can take this advice not in a mean spirited way (although responding to such proto-fascists can be maddening, I STILL hold out hope they can learn to read and might be able to travel up the scale to mere conservatism), but rather in a constructive critical way- get out more, talk to people not like yourself, converse with a foreigner, have an ethnic meal, then go to a library.  Start with the FT, and then the Far East Economic review and the Economist.  There is a whole world out there that is not a bad thing.  Learn their history and our roles in it, and you might be less stridently chauvinistic.  You might also see how having one of the two last great powers standing be led by a man whose intellect is extremely limited might be seen with derision by the rest of the world.

It is an open secret in DC that any US/China confrontation simulation that does not go hot (nuclear) right away does not go in our favour.  This complacent US first policy is inexorably losing us valuable moral and political inventory with our present allies. This is obviuosly a dangerously bad thing and potentially toxic for long term national defense (even our two idiot savants might be able to connect these dots-we're talking about nat'l defence, their real love).  Add to that the needless wastage of an army we might need in that more important struggle, and you can see how a tragic mistake may have been made by the American people (well, the Supremely purchased court did it, but the people did nothing to prevent it).

Basically the idiot son of an old king took us all on a personal crusade into an asian land war.  Think Napolean: Russia, Napolean: Egypt, Hitler:Russia, Charles XII: Russia.  The too-small land force, the big promises and false pretexts. Good reading.

The rest of us on this board have found a secret- women dig you if you have something intelligent to say.  A particularly well told current affairs joke has gotten me a sloppier bbbj on more than one occasion.  Let's hope these jokers catch the clue- they are missing out...

And to the boys themselves-  This is not a flame but more of a plea- Clue Fever- Catch it!
