The FBI falls under the EXECUTIVE branch. POTUS is the HEAD of the executive branch. So what "separate branch of governments" (sic) are you referring?
Dershowitz just weighed in on CNN, no Trump lover he, and as consistent with his past statements, says there is no obstruction here.
Once again, Trump was acting in accordance with his constitutional power to discuss, and even influence, a subordinate about ANY investigation. The FBI is not independent of the White House. Maybe it should be, maybe it once was, but those days are long gone.
He could have demanded Comey to end the investigation and that wouldn't be OOJ, based on facts/reports known.
What Trump did may have been improper or inappropriate, but there is just zero evidence from Comey's released statement today that Trump committed any crime.

Toobin is a partisan Dem, much like Judge Napolitano is a partisan Rep on Fox.
Turley and Dershowitz are liberals, but NOT partisans and are MUCH more respected constitutional scholars than Toobin.

I have seen him introduced as a "liberal" constitutional academic on dozens of occasions. Quite incredible you lack this information that is widely known. What confuses you is that he isn't as ideologically pure as you would want. He is a classic liberal who chooses to place civil liberties and the constitution ahead of party. Mr. Dershowitz does the same, as is why I respect both the way I do. Based on your logic, Bill O'Reilly isn't a conservative because he calls himself a "traditionalist." Comey's statement, the core of his testimony, was already made public. He confirmed what Trump said, that Comey DID tell him he was not the subject of an investigation. BUT, Comey also confirmed Trump tried to get him to stop his investigation, which many believe is obstruction of justice. So Trump's lawyer's statement that Comey's statement vindicates him is hardly true. Now Trump surrogates are out there saying all that matters is Comey confirmed one thing Trump said, while Democrats are saying it also proves Trump obstructed justice and should be impeached. Where ya been, Wu?
