For those of you to whom this matters, get ready to tighten your belts.  Likely a necessary action, but still makes those tax cuts sting.

..... so what is your f____ing point?  I see people every day whose lives are being affected by the current economy.  I do not work for a government social agency (welfare agency, school, ect), as a matter of fact, I do not work for the government at all.  I constantly have to tell well educated, motivated people that we have no work for them.  After a while, that gets to a thinking person.

is the only way you think.

Try changing someone's mind, instead of just insulting them.

posters who throw insults at others really shouldn't complain when someone else needles them back. It's funny that liberals on this board expect to be given a free pass in this regard. Yet, right leaning posters are decried as meanies when they fight back. Quite a few liberals make alot of inflamatory posts here, often insulting the intelligence of conservative posters, they should expect to get a little back. For example: If one person calls another a "shit-eater", he really shouldn't get upset when he gets a negative reply.

Try thinking about that for a moment.

been liberals who have made inflammatory posts.

And I don't claim that I have not put up posts that could be seen as inflammatory by some.  But I think it's lousy when any of us do it.

It's one thing to be flinging zingers at one another because of political viewpoints.  It's something else when someone apparently finds joy in others' misfortunes.

I didn't find your "I have a job and you don't" comment to be funny in the least, even if its intent wasn't to be malicious.  And since you opened the can of worms by making the "No wonder you can't find a job" post in response to my comments about social security, you have little room to talk.  At least my social security comment wasn't a personal attack; I was just giving an opinion.  Your intent was evidently to start something personal; you did, and I responded in kind.

I have no problem with others having differing opinions from mine.  That's part of what keeps the U.S. from being a dictatorship.  I've withstood a lot of emotional & psychological abuse endured during my teenage & adult years.  Most of the time, I never did anything about it, nor did I dish it out first.  I don't take that stance anymore, even on a faceless message board where everyone hides behind their own goofy screen names.

You can't see a person's facial expression or know what they are really thinking when they are writing out their comments.  All you see are the words in black and white.  Without some other written clue that it really wasn't meant to be mean, I could only conclude it was on a personal level.

I am frustrated about the job market and not being able to find one with what I feel is a good background, so for the moment it is a bit of a touchy subject for me.  I can take a pretty good punch most of the time, but it can waver on occasion.

I accept your apology, and offer mine in return.

Now back to political sparring...

Social Security has been FUBARed by both parties, not just the Republicans. KCnojob is just too adle-minded to figure it out. That's why I tweaked him.

Now, before you say it, I know that I'm just a partisan meanie and me and Bri are the only ones who ever say a bad word about any of the high-minded liberals who valiantly try to keep a respectful dialogue going here. So, shame on me! Bad RLTW!

I do not think that you are a meanie, a wannabe tough guy maybe.  But a meanie?  Don't make me laugh, I dealt with guys tougher than you and Bri when I was in sixth grade.
I stick with my partisan statement about you.  KCShyGuy is partisan also from the liberal side of the equation, but I have not seem him insulting people because of circumstances that are more or less out of their control.  Like you, I have a job, one that almost certainly pays more than yours.  But I see everyday that this economy that we are in is damaging men, women and families.

Except for approximately 3 weeks, I had a job and was working during Clinton's entire 8 years in office.  I have been unemployed for 2/3rds of Shrub's 3 1/2 plus years of infesting the White House.  Just one of over one million net jobs LOST since Dumbya stole office.

Shrub's job is going to be next, when he gets outsourced in November.

to help pay for tax cuts for the rich and fund a now unjustified war with Iraq; and even with doing that, still created the biggest budget deficit in U.S. history.

It's no wonder CONservatives and RepubliCONs just don't get IT, PERIOD!!!

you posted this comment after you edited your "shit-eating" comment above. Not only are you a loser who posts behind different aliases in the same threads, but you are also a pompous hypocrite.

be.  Apparently you just aren't the kind of guy who can rise above that.  Or perhaps you still could be.

you post a "catty" comment calling me a shit-eater, later editing out the comment so no one will see it, then you pretend that you are taking the high-road?

I'll borrow a word that you often use to label those who disagree with you: that's pathetic.
