Congress needs to get off their collective asses and mandate - 1) new oil exploration within the US. 2) New drilling within the US. 3) new refining capacity within the US. NOW.

I'm sorry, but "there is a God" is a pretty disgusting comment regarding Gustav's expected timing of making landfall coinciding with the start of the GOP Convention.
If there is an advantage to be gained by tragedy, this may be going the Republicans way. First of all Bush and Cheney are now not going to the convention. That alone is a huge break. Also, McCain may be getting a chance to act like a caring leader by organizing the convention into the hurricane relief effort.
