Bush proposes to move our troops from countries where they are not needed (Germany; Korea) to where they can be more effectively deployed and utilized in the war on terror (the continential United States), and Kerry opposes it, while advocating bringing the troops home from Iraq. Without debating the merits of the Administration's conclusions (I think the conclusion that they are not needed in South Korea is debatable), Kerry's fundamental position seems to be "Keep the troops where they are not needed, and get them out of where they are needed."

We needed them in Iraq as much as we needed troops in Greenland during WW2. The difference is that Iraq is far deadlier.

They plotted to kill H.W. Bush. Clinton retaliated. End of terrorism -- -until we attacked under G. W. At one point before the recent attack the C.I.A. said Iraq would be MORE likely to attack us here if we invade. Hope people actually read The 9/11 Commission Report.
