Well, let's see, the question is, are we any freer today than 40 years ago. Well, I still remember corporeal punishment in schools, J. Edgar Hoover, Nixon and Kent State, and oh ya, the draft for the Viet Nam War. So what do you think? I would imagine we have less freedoms in some regards and more in others.

We have always been subjugated by the capitalist class.

held by the Communists. Ahh, those were the days I remember when people were building fallout shelters in an attempt to preserve their life. THAT was some freedom during the middle of the 20th century.

Yes it helps not to look back with rose colored glasses. Ahh the good old days of 40 years ago when a person like myself would have been denied even the most basic of liberties.

Maybe for white, christian males they were the good old days. For the rest of us, I like things a lot better today. I also have to confess my life has gotten progessively better the older I get. I would love to have the energy of youth, but I have no desire to be twenty again.
