I have been willing to dump the UN for a long time. I have said so many times to friends.  It isn't a question of "manning up" and admitting anything now.  

About 10 years ago I got the list of nations that are UN members.  I drew a line through every one that I did not want having any input in US foreign policy, even as one in 200 in the General Assembly. Chad, Uganda, Burma, K. Korea, etc.  

When the list hit a certain level, I decided I didn't really want to be a member of that club.

The wisdom of my choice is reflected in the fact that 100 Moslems were just killed in their places of worship and a like number of Christians, and the UN had nothing to say about it.  Gosh and golly. Lots of Islamic blood there.

(In my old days as a Soviet Studies major I met an old White Russian who in the 60's had to attend a dinner at Stanford in honor of a visiting Soviet dignitary.  It came time for toasts, which the Russians are good at.  The Soviet delegation raised their glasses to Stalin.  My professor got up and said, "To Stalin.
