I think we have already figured out who "was" going to replace Baghdadi, now we just have to figure out which one we get next

In a fair world of reporting the facts, Obama would get credit for creating ISIS and Trump would get the credit for ending them. But we all know how unlikely it is that Obama will get ANY blame nor Trump any credit.

So Trump just got his moment to thump his chest and babble his usual word salad. "Air ships." rofl.

And the left went nuts claiming that none of us gave Obama "any" credit for doing so.

Let's see how things go now that the shoe is on the other foot. This happened under Trumps watch, if things had gone wrong, he would have been blamed, so he gets to take a victory lap IMO, but the actual heroes were the men/women who actually pulled this off. Trump deserves the same credit that Obama got, no more, and no less.

What happened today was a "good thing" What I have a hard time understanding is the criticism of Trump making "protecting the oil" a priority. Some of these talking heads and politicians are complete fucking idiots, do they not understand that it's not the oil itself that Trump is concerned with, but making damn sure that the money generated isn't used to fuel a brand new caliphate against us? I think ultimately the oil will go mainly to the Kurds, but in the meantime it's critically important that those fields don't fall into the wrong hands and the proceeds NOT be permitted to fuel a brand new war against us. This is only common sense, I can't believe just how fucking dumb some of the Dims are to be making this a point of contention.

to the military for the successful mission, which was green-lighted by Trump, and then  she pivoted into bashing Trump for pulling out of Syria, even though HE gave the order to kill Bagdadi before they turned out the lights and closed the door on US occupation in Syria.

Trump has been clear we are no longer providing occupying forces, but we will continue to support our allies with  strategic strikes when needed.  He made a comment prior to his Syria announcement a few weeks ago that he liked pushing a few buttons and taking out our enemies rather than having boots on the ground.

There was no "US occupation in Syria." We only had about 1,000 troops in the entire area, FAR too few to be an occupying force. They were only there to support a liaison mission to the Kurds, who did the real "occupying." Until we pulled the rug out from under them.
In fact, reports say this killing was in the planning stage since August and Trump almost ruined it by his hasty and Ill-planned withdrawal from Syria, which made the whole effort to get Baghdadi much more difficult and dangerous. It is a tribute to the skill and courage of our Special Ops people that they succeeded anyway.
But thanks for your military wisdom, Generalissimo.

From The NY Times: "But Mr. Trump’s abrupt withdrawal order three weeks ago disrupted the meticulous planning underway and forced Pentagon officials to speed up the plan for the risky night raid before their ability to control troops, spies and reconnaissance aircraft disappeared with the pullout, the officials said.

Mr. al-Baghdadi’s death in the raid on Saturday, they said, occurred largely in spite of, and not because of, Mr. Trump’s actions."

Of course, GaMulvaney will say, "But...but...but...it's from the Slimes so it can't be true! Waaaaaaaaah!"

We already knew you haven't got the dimmest clue about what impeachment is, or about the Constitution.
So you are a perfect addition to your little group.

The polls on Americans who want Trump impeached seem to be heading the other way the last few days.  With the assassination of Baghdadi, Trump may be viewed a lot more positively in the new few weeks, putting the screws to the Dem impeachment effort.  The next few weeks will be telling.

No wonder he pushed out and declined to throw out the first pitch.

Is it true senators can’t campaign during a senate impeachment hearing?

Should be fan leading up to the election.

Actually, you are coo-coo enough to be all three of them.  Here's a nice shot I found of you and Wu, getting ready to fling your poo.

Is the fact that Trump gave the military more praise and credit in that one press conference than obama did in 8 years.

2020 = GOP

assassination than Obama was.  At the time, al queda was washed up and Obama was hiding out.  The Obama hit was all about "revenge: for 9-11.  This strike was military strategy since bagdadi was still a threat to reorganize ISIS after the US leaves Syria.

Dem Rep Radcliffe from California said it best this morning when he said "we have a President with balls."

This makes you wonder if the announced pull-out from Syria a week ago was a set-up to make Bagdadi feel secure staying in one place long enough for the US to develop and execute the mission.  Terrorist leaders are known to keep moving around to make themselves a more difficult target.  If this is the case, it was a brilliant strategy, although the Turks attacking the Kurds was a regrettable unforeseen consequence, but how many future lives were saved with this terrorist leader gone?

Three times in place of Bin Ladin.  Note to self, drink coffee BEFORE posting in the morning.  Lol

For example, you can click on a post after it goes up and hit the "Edit" button to fix any of your numerous errors.
But given the amount of mistakes and idiocies you put up here, it would be smarter to just have Admin pull the entire post.

At least CDL admits it when he makes a mistake. Of course if you were to admit to every mistake you have made here, it would most likely take up your entire day.

As for the Obama/Osama "error" I think that might be better explained as a "Freudian slip" lol

In fact, I've busted poor Cur for being blatantly WRONG almost as many times as I've busted YOU and NEITHER of you admits it 99.9999999% of the time.
Are you trying to sew up this week''s Pot/Kettle/Black Award on Monday?

That just can't seem to EVER admit when they are wrong.  Its not me, and its not GaG.  Which three are left?

But apparently you don't.  There is a four-hour window to edit a post.  After that, you won't see  the edit button.  Duh.

If you really care you can ask Admin to edit your post and they'll do it.
Duh.

keeping the site open with, I would never impose like that.  I fixed it in a way that didn't inconvenience ANYBODY.  That's just the way I roll.

Rather than simply taking the L when you fuck up, which is ALL the time. You simply hide, or attempt to hide or destroy the evidence, no wonder you voted for Hillary.

Isn't that what's called lying? Not to mention hypocrisy, coming as it does from our leading fact-bender and torturer of the truth.
Oh, look! I edited this post! WAAAAAAaaaahhhh!

-- Modified on 10/29/2019 6:19:52 PM

Oh, look! I edited it AGAIN, just to fuck with Wu!
BWAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

-- Modified on 10/29/2019 6:46:05 PM

Oh, look! I edited it a THIRD TIME! Just to show how meaningless and simple it is! Almost as meaningless and simple as WU!
HAWHAWHAWHAWHAWHAWHAW!!!!!!!!!

-- Modified on 10/29/2019 6:48:27 PM

did all three edits within the four-hour time window.  It was good that you practiced editing it three times.  At your age, you might remember it longer.   Personally, I don't consider you THAT old, since I have now started my 60's, but I did hear that you were at an antique auction once and they were bidding on you.

You actually still can edit after four hours, it's just a different process. I will occasionally find an error in one of my posts I want to correct after the "Edit" function is disabled. Admin is always willing to help make the correction. That's not pulling a post, simply making sure it's accurate. Something that you, Wu and swallowpee don't care about.
So carry on with your ignorance by all means.

First of all, it wasn't "Obama hiding out," it was OSAMA!
And who else besides YOU said it was all about revenge? First of all, what's wrong with exacting revenge for 9/11? And, in fact, the Bin Laden and Baghdadi executions were virtually identical. Both were on the run and in hiding but still running their operations. So, for you another FAIL.
Most hilarious is your total speculation at the end about the Syria bug-out being all part of Trump's brilliant plan. BWWWWAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
If that's true, why didn't ANYONE else in our gummint know about it so they could prepare an orderly withdrawal? In fact, this raid has been in the planning since last August, before even our dimwit Prez had thought about getting out of Syria. As I pointed out in another post, Trump's bug-out jeopardized the raid and made it much more dangerous for our troops.
Nice job, Don The Chickenhawk.

"Killing an enemy is not the same as defeating an enemy." - said in various ways by many military and political leaders over many centuries, including comments about the death of Baghdadi.
.
Commentators I heard said that the CIA and other intel are trying to figure out who will likely replace Baghdadi and how they will track, understand, or target that successor and future ISIS activities.

spinning it to try to minimize that Trump's hit was bigger and more important than Obama's.  Bin Ladin's successor turned out to be his son.  Guess who got him?  Trump.  I'm sure Trump can handle whoever the successor of Baghdadi turns out to be.  He'll have four more years to get him.  Let them whine at CNN..

I think we have already figured out who "was" going to replace Baghdadi, now we just have to figure out which one we get next

and next, and the one after that, and the next one ... Killing off adherents one by one will not eliminate the ISIS threat.  "Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty."

But I would call killing them one after another after another is the very definition of "eternal vigilance" Especially when it comes to killing their leaders before they even get a chance to lead.

You do now that "eternal" means forever, right? You never totally defeat such an enemy just by killing them off one by one. New adherents, or minor variants, pop up. Indoctrinated children grow up to indoctrinate their children.
.
You have to change the culture and and ideals of such an enemy.

Just look at the US, the white Christians changed the "culture and ideals" of the indigenous people here pretty much by wiping them off the face of the earth, and this is hardly the only example I can think of, history is full of wars that were won NOT by changing the "culture and ideals" of an enemy but by wiping out said enemy.  I guess you were sleeping during all your history classes in school.

I said, "You never totally defeat such an enemy just by killing them off one by one."  What YOU are talking about is "genocide" or "ethnic cleansing" or similar. Is that what you are suggesting "we" do today?
.
Who will you go after first and how will you wipe them out? Bombs? Germs? Chemicals? ... Just remeber, that when you're done, Trump will be coming for you.

have been based for hundreds, if not thousands, of years on a "TRIBAL" structure, where you have one very powerful leader, and no clear chain of command or succession under that leader.  Killing the leader and a few of his closest aids like Trump did will set them back months, if not years, in reorganizing.  Followers don't always accede to the wishes of the dead leader on who should take over, and there may be extended in-fighting on who gets to be the successor.

The ragheads and the thumpers have been fighting a war of  "My God is better than your God" for roughly two thousand years, with countless millions of casualties and still no end in sight. Maybe killing them in "bigger bunches" really is the only ultimate solution.

For the record, there was no "ethnic cleansing" were it came to the indigenous people of this continent, or at least not a conscious one. Your people (not mine) simply wiped them out in bigger and bigger bunches until there were so few left they had to capitulate or be wiped out completely

There was a time, really not all that long ago that I had a faint hope that we could simply "Walmart" the Muslims into submission, IOW that we could simply show the goat fuckers, err goat farmers that the western way of life was so superior to living squalor under Sharia law that they would change of their own accord. I no longer believe that is going to happen, looking at the mess Europe has become by allowing millions of Muslims who flat out refuse to assimilate has dashed those faint hopes of mine. I am honestly believing that it really may come down to "us or them" and I choose "us" in more and more likely case that becomes the only two choices. BTW by "us" I don't mean Christians as I am as virulently anti christian as anyone you will find, but I have figured out how to co-exist with Christians who in the last few centuries have finally decided that  people like me no longer have to "convert or die" unlike the Muslims who have that as one of the lynchpins of their religion and who only seem to become "moderate" when out numbered a hundred to one.

Let me guess, YOUR solution is to just "be nice" to them, right?

I don't claim to have a solution. You are sounding more and more like you think you have a Final Solution http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Solution which is rather worrisome.

I don't recall any Jews beheading Christians, throwing Gays off the tops of tall buildings, blowing up innocent civilians, etc, etc etc.

I don't have a solution either, but I do concede there is a possibility that after 2,000 years, millions of lives lost, and with the gains in technology that make the end of the world more and more possible by some religious kook. Maybe this is indeed a war where only one side survives? If that is the case, I want to be on the winning side. As I've said before, I can co-exist with the Bible Thumpers, I have spent decades living in the Bible Belt and I drink what I want, eat what I want, fuck who I want, with minimal interference from the Thumpers who openly disagree with my lifestyle. All of that would come to an end if the ragheads win, absorbing millions of Muslims who don't want to assimilate into Europe and the US makes even less sense than Texas accepting millions of New Yorkers and Californians who want to ruin our state after destroying their own.

Died in the same blast, along with five other top ISIS members.  It took Obama a year to get the successor to Bin Laden.  Trump just got a 2-fer.  How efficient is THAT?
