it might help if anybody who advocates something knows what they're talking about?
Or has some credibility, ie, did not personally have other prirorities when Uncle Sam wanted them, and did in fact know where they were for drills, instead of paying people to snipe at somebody else's honorable record?
(I cannot believe that the Repubs, who generally and specifically are chickenhawks like Limblob, and gasbags like Coulter, would set their own people on McCain and Kerry alike, whose records they can only envy. The reason is because the Repubs collectively have no shame, and they rely on the belief that they can keep themselves above the law.)
Shooting at people, or getting shot at, is not something to be done lightly, or without thought. However, the current crop of politicians do exactly that. Maybe we SHOULD have a constitutional amendment requiring anybody who signs to send a man into a combat zone first has to successfully complete boot camp. Sort of a term limits, desperate appeal for common sense provision.
Unfortunately, we don't get a good selection of politicians, IMHO because of the polarization of politics, which I would lay at the door of the religious right more than anybody else - although there have been groups on the left who are excused only because of their general ineffectiveness, ie, they can't pass the laugh test.
Comparing the draft dodging Clinton to the draft dodging Bush, there are a couple distinctions. 1st, Democrats don't run on a platform of purity; they run on a platform of perversion. Everybody knows up front that the Democrats are pathetic pervs. Many of the Repubs actually believe they are pure, and they do their damnedest to convince others they are - when actually, they are a much higher grade of pervert (and liars to boot) than the Dems. It's the hypocrisy that frosts my ass, because it's much harder to deal with.
So you get Democrats who actually put in time, like Murtha & Kerry. Find me a Republican who did. McCain is disqualified, because you folks have already disinherited him as a RINO. Of course Cheney is the classic.
One of the things I really admire about Republicans is their insistence on gratuitous shit, like referring to Rhodes as "Road Apple", as if it were even relevant to the discussion. After a while, we learn this is the way this level of person communicates, by gratuitous mud-slinging, and if you want to deal with them, you have to give your customer what he wants, because that's all he understands. Just another example of how Gresham's law operates.
No, I wouldn't support Hillary, because she doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of uniting the country. Yeah, the women's libbers need to make up their mind, they can't have it both ways.
Who's silencing dissenting opinion? Are we hurting your feelings by demonstrating your logical weaknesses? Again, the Republican hypocrisy gags me - they're such tough guys, until somebody disagrees with them, then they get out their hankies and bawl just like little girls, I mean Democrats.
Get it together, will ya?
