4. When Sussman (allegedly) lies to the FBI about a detail considered to be trivial and irrelevant by many lawyers commenting on the indictment it's a death penalty offense to the Trumpists. When Flynn pleads guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with foreign officials, the lying only came out as the consequence of a Trump witch hunt. Muller spent two years investigating and all he could come up with were tenuous connections between officials who worked for Trump and the Russians. Yet no evidence of actual collusion. That’s why the Democrats didn’t impeach Trump for it.
The connections between the trump campaign and Russian operatives or cutouts we're hardly tenuous. There were dozens of interactions that were documented. Collusion with Russians is not a crime, per se. The crime would be conspiracy to defraud the United States. Proving conspiracy to defraud requires the intent of both parties to the potential conspiracy. It was impossible to investigate the intent of the Russians since they were in Russia.
However, what trump could, and in my opinion should, have been impeached for was obstruction of justice in the investigation of the Russian colussion. The Mueller report cited several examples of obstruction of the investigation by trump. But the Dems had just taken control of the House and a political decision was made by Pelosi and her leadership team not to pursue impeachment. If they had, as it turns out, trump would have the dubious distinction of being the only president impeached three times.
You really should read the Mueller report - parts one and two - to understand what's a corrupt, authoritarian, demagogue is capable of.
