Is Willy going to lose his salary if the government shuts down?

Wouldn't that be amusing? We know Willy claims to be a Federal worker in DC who has been "working" from home and admits to just laying around his house, smoking weed and grifting his salary. He thought that was hilarious. So now what? Fess up, Willy! Are you still grifting? Will you lose your salary as of Sunday? Will you have to Dumpster-dive for food? That would be a shame.
As for Willy's far-right cronies in Congress, the tail is wagging the dog. McCarthy is held hostage by a handful of MAGA-maniacs who WANT to shut the government down. McCarthy could cut a deal by which moderate Republicans and Democrats would support a Continuing Resolution like the bi-Partisan bill supported by the adults in the Senate 76-22. But that would almost certainly trigger a recall petition of McCarthy by the radical right and we'd be back to the January farce of 15 votes in a row before he could cut a deal.
This is all part of a suicide pact among radical Republicans. Why?
1) In every shutdown caused by the Republicans (the Dems haven't caused any) they paid a price at the ballot box.
2) This time will be worse because Dems will remind voters that McCarthy promised not to shut the government down again as part of the deal with Biden to extend the debt limit. Dems will be reminding voters that McCarthy and the Republicunts welshed. McCarthy has been falsely trying to blame Biden for any shut-down without any credible evidence and McCarthy's earlier promise will remind voters that he's lying. And that he and the MAGA-5 bear the entire fault for the shut-down.
So a broken promise by McCarthy and a tiny gaggle of rabid-right Republiclowns will be the next blow to the dwindling electoral hopes of this political dinosaur of a party. You'd think Willy would be mad at those who are about to screw him out of his ill-gotten grifting. But Willy's so nuts he'll probably gleefully join the Republicunt Circular Firing Squad.
Oh, boy!

1) Despite that I do get to telecommute some days, I haven’t worked from home in months.

And 2) yep. Government shuts down, I stay home and my paychecks stop. Luckily they pay it all back when government reopens. Back in 2018 when there was a shutdown for over a month I had to tell my mortgage company that I was gonna be a little late that month. They understood so it was no big deal. Now I don’t have a mortgage, so I’m good. Quite frankly a few of us are gambling on whether the shut down will happen. About a half dozen of us, myself included, are hoping for the shut down to happen. End of fiscal year work is always a nightmare. Getting an unexpected vacation would be nice. Maybe I’ll take a trip to Sea World or something.

Sea World is about your scene. Enjoy Shamu, or whatever.

I mean other than spending the day fucking hookers, is there a better way to spend your day then at an aquarium? I’m hoping to take a trip to Lisbon next spring.

And the workers get paid their federal salaries when a funding bill is introduced. Once the federal workers get their fed paychecks, they are required to pay the unemployment payments back to the state.

I went that route back in 2018 and it took longer to get the unemployment than it took for the federal government to reopen. I’m well off enough that I have no worries here. I’m nearly debt free and other than property taxes I don’t have any bills. Quite frankly, the government could shut down for 3 months and it wouldn’t be much more than an irritation to me financially.

I'd say that's good news except what it really means is his grifting paid off big-time.

You’re collecting social security you don’t need!

Be honest, Willy, though I know that's difficult. Do you REALLY think there's an equivalence between your staying home, pretending to work, smoking weed and collecting your pay with my working for many years, paying into the Social Security Trust Fund and then taking back what I've earned?
Please stop lying, Willy.

I’ve always felt that the right thing to do is that if you’re wealthy and you’ve done well for yourself and you just don’t need it to pay your bills, then it’s wrong to accept social security. I mean why take it if you don’t need it? Now if you have a little savings and want to pass that to your kids when you pass, but that wouldn’t be possible without taking social security, then fine. I understand. But if your social security is something that you don’t even remotely need then why take it?

I’ve worked blue collar jobs and office jobs in my life. I guarantee you, no one who works in an office is doing any real work. If you don’t break a sweat, it’s not work.

Suffice it to say, even by your OWN measurements I'm justified in taking my we'll-earned SS $$$.
