you'll see that I've always defended CL's position as a good place to be - at least in my part of the country. I'm sorry they weren't so good in your part, but it doesn't mean it was bad all over.

Actually, the blame lies beyond CNN. It's an election year, as other people have pointed out. Sigh...

I don't whine, Tim; I get angry over injustice, especially when it directly impacts the people I care about (including this board and myself). So, no, it's still business as usual even w/o CL to fall back on.

It was reported on the national news this week that the attorneys general of 17 states pressured Craigslist to take down their adult section.  Until there is some of form of decriminalization, LE will continue to enjoy these types of victories.

I  could not give a damn as most all that post there now are crack whores ran by pimps or a LE sting .
When CNN runs a fake ad in the adult services section in May and received 15 calls soliciting sex within three hours CL knew it was done :)

There is not one, not ONE, area of business that doesn't have its scammers and rip-offs. CL didn't have the patent on it; they didn't even invent the concept of scamming and rip offs.

Not all, nor even MOST, of the providers on CL were as bad as you're claiming. MOST providers on that site were decent, hard-working providers. Just like MOST mechanics truly care about how to fix your car, MOST providers from CL truly care about having a good image so they'd have more customers. I mean, think about it, fella!

And I'm damn tired of hearing people on this board, including you, put down a perfectly good site because of a FEW bad girls. The occasional scammer or rip-off is NOT and NEVER HAS BEEN the majority. But, like any other negative media, that's what gets passed on. Stop whining about CL already (and that goes for BP, too)!

In my area they were crack whores and I know for a fact from info from other sources that they had pimps .Also, LE was setting up stings all the time on CL .  The girls I would  see do not accept a reference from the sluts that advertised on CL .
I am not whining but seems like you are about the demise . I am glad they are gone and blame CNN :)

feel somewhat the same as you but I would rather have them gathered, herded and bunched on CL than scattered everywhere else. I think the blame is probably CL's. CNN was only doing their job. It is to bad they don't provide the same investagive reporting in politics, business and victim crime.

I agree CL did it to themselves  and it started with that CL murderer but CNN caused so much negative publicity that they were forced to shut down .
