Watch for yourself, but she says Trump is an existential threat to journalism, uses the far left, hateful verbiage on global warming by referring to "skeptics" with the more holocaust invoking, mean spirited "deniers" label, cant even mouth the words "Laura Ingraham" (Trump's potential White House press secretary), etc etc etc Yes, her leftism is now open and for all to see if others weren't aware prior. Now, no, being a liberal isn't a bad thing. But CNN trying to claim to be in the "center" is absurd. From Amanpour, to Don Lemon, and from Anderson Cooper to Fareed Zakaria, CNN is clearly left of center. Not a conservative in sight. Not that they don't have talent. They do. And I watch most of them when I can, but there is clearly a leftist bent there and much more so then they would ever acknowledge. Again, CNN can be anything it wants to be. And if Ms. Amanpour wants to find one of those elites that the MSM doesn't even knows exists, all she has to do is walk in her bathroom and and look in the mirror. One of the most concerning examples of Trump's campaign rhetoric and actions were his statements about changing the libel laws and freezing out Washington Post reporters when The Post didn't agree with him. He is ultra-sensitive to ANY criticism and doesn't understand/respect the purpose of The First Amendment Freedom of Speech.
I've never thought Amanpour was anything but liberal, just not a far leftist liberal. I'm grateful she and Zakeeria can give us some better understanding of the Mideast mindset. Obviously, we need that.
Whenever there was a major news event, especially an election or war, I would always flip channels between CNN and FOX. After Obama's election, I couldn't watch FOX anymore. Even before he took office they were screaming hysterically about his "socialist agenda." Even Obama is telling people to, "give Trump a chance." Listening to FOX after Obama's election was like listening to the ravings of the damned from the inner circles of Hell.
Amanpour grew up and went to schools in what was then, a fairly liberal London. What the hell do you expect from her? Her father was Jordanian and she benefitted from that in order to better understand the Mideast. She hasn't been shy about critical reporting of the more extreme practices of Islam.

No, I don't expect her to be conservative or even centrist but what I DO expect her to do is not to minimize the tens of millions of people who voted against the status quo establishment and at least try and do some introspection and REAL journalism to find out why they voted as they did rather than to just bash the person they voted for.

There are many "journalists" who agree with you and who are more than willing to collaborate with Trump. Why should you cringe at any voice that seeks the facts as facts and speaks the truth as honestly as they perceive it? How can that possibly harm you? It can't. I don't know about Amapour, but I've heard Fareed Zakaria say he's moderately left of center; So, that's no secret. All I know is Amapour, given the gnarly places and conditions she's reported from and in, she's got bigger balls than some us on this board. And, regarding Fareed's GPS show, I like how he brings experts, on an issue, from several perspectives, and they discuss the issues in a well balance format, and without the panelists talking over each other. It's the only show of that type that I can stand to watch for the whole show.

one of those truths that she needs to tell is that she picked a side. And in doing so she has done what she could; and is doing what she can in order for her side to prevail.
She can and should number herself among the many similar people and entities are are more responsible for Trump's victory than any other reason. It's not just the Fourth Estate that are responsible. President Obama and many in his administration stands among them as well. Remember Johnathan Gruber, one of the architects of ObamaCare? Remember how he proudly declared they were utilizing the public's own stupidity to get things passed?
