Most of the deaths are gang and drug related. I seriously doubt that Senator Obama is hanging with all the G's I had to deal with as a kid.

If you want to argue facts you should get accurate ones. The statistics cited were for Chicago proper, not metro. So the correct population figure to use instead of your 10 million is less than 3 million, still a hell of a lot more than the 145,000+ U.S. military in Iraq, which by the way is substantially higher than your figure of  50,000.

The comparison was merely meant to get your attention. If we want to linger on the murder rate comparisons it would be more appropriate to compare using the total population of  Iraq (27 million) to Chicago proper (3 million), and not restrict the Iraq number of killed to U.S. soldiers but to include the deaths in the general population (does anyone really know what that is? It’s got to still be very high).

So yes, any way you look at it, Iraq is a more dangerous place than Chicago (unless you’re a gang banger maybe)

The point I was making is this. Look how high the gun deaths are in Chicago, even though it’s a GUN FREE ZONE, courtesy of all those Democrats. Turned fully loose, the Democrats will put into place more and more restrictions on innocent people that result in almost no benefit or in some cases result in negative benefit due to unintended consequences. I don’t believe BHO for a moment when he claims to respect the Second Amendment.

Im totally against any kind of gun control. except maybe tracking ownership. Even that has pitfalls. Gun control ensures that only criminals will have them.
