Trump is acknowledging, with that statement, that prices on at least some products will rise. That is why he is saying to buy less. That is shocking, coming from him. He knows tariffs are going to start hurting consumers so he is warming us up to that fact so he can say it's "old news" when it happens. This is what charlatans do. . He is the first president I can ever recall dampening the excitement of Christmas for children. A combination of Scrooge and the Grinch.
