China builds things very easily. They decide on a train route and start building. If someone's house is in the way, that person leaves. If a worker gets killed, sorry. If the crew one a line wants so strike for a higher wage, they are thrown off the line, maybe into jail, and a new crew is hired.

Speaking seriously about the Chinese for a moment, given their dismal regard for safety and overall callous attitude for human life, I would be a bit leery about getting on any kind of "high speed" train built by the Chinese.
At that time, everyone in the world built things with cheap labor that worked in dangerous conditions. It wasn't the racial aspect that made Chinese disposable. It was poverty in China.
When the Irish came over, they were treated the same way building canals in the South.
The difference is that we have changed a thousand percent, as have some other parts of the world.
China is living in its past in terms of labor.

I still stand behind the two serious parts of my post, Ben is a troll who should not be fed, and I wouldn't get on anything considered "high speed" built by the PRC.
I do disagree just slightly in re to the Chinese in of 100+years ago in this country. While being used as "slave labor" was more an economic factor than racial, their lack of any human rights whatsoever was definitely racial. The Irish were treated as second class citizens, the Chinese and anyone else not "white" were not even recognized as human beings.
