I am for cutting the deficit and paying down the debt, massively!!! Yes, this includes defense unfortunately. But I will say defense would be one of the LAST budgets I would touch, but at this point, all programs will need to be affected.

I am also for maximizing revenues into the treasury AFTER the cuts have been made. Too often they say they will do both, but they never cut spending, only raise taxes. Another debate would be HOW to increase revenues to the treasury. Is it through raising taxes, or lowering them to stimulate the economy. Obama himself admitted lowering taxes increases revenues to the treasury, but wants to raise them  simply because it is a matter of what he calls "fairness". If he were serious about paying down the debt, he would not have this warped position.

I have been watching people try to predict the election and grasp with desperate hope at any poll that back up their hopes, but i have to ask, will it really matter for the average democratic voter?

I think I have the answer, it is one which is actually pretty obvious and undeniable, and kind of makes me smile

While we debate the issues, while we pontificate about who may win and how they will govern, in the great scheme of things we realize it really does not matter.

The rich and affluent will continue to be so. They have the means and smarts to maintain their position no matter which party governs. They will continue to lead the lives while the average democratic voter will continue to struggle, wondering when all this hope and change is suppose to help them.

While I myself was no fan of Clinton or Obama, I have done well personally while they were in office, proving this point as well.

Bottom line, the liberal left is pissed because in the end, they realize while they can argue all day, they have already lost. Even if they win, they lose. I will continue to be in the top 3% no matter who is elected, I will continue to enjoy my country club membership, and basically enjoy life. This really pisses off the liberal left, and this is what kind of makes me smile

Do I want Obama to lose, SURE but since I live my life in a way where I do not depend on the government for my livlihood, I know I will win in the long run either way.

No democrat who depends on the government can make the same statement

We don't give a fuck how affluent you think you are or for your stupid delusions about who is a democratic voter.  And a lot of democratic voters are concerned for the uninsured and the middle class--and what a moron you are if you think all of them are "struggling".  A lot of them are way more affluent and successful  than you are.

And your liars will lose, and Romney will  get stomped in a few hours.

The tone of your post only proves my point. You are in fact pissed, otherwise why all the hostility.

Thanks for the affirmation.

You know, I was hoping in my absence some folks from the other side of the aisle would be able to step up and back up their argument. However, with a few exceptions, I see its still just the same old juvenile vitriol that was here before....

Now if you will excuse me, I have a tee time to make...

LMFAO!!!

All of his hostility, arrogant puffery and vacuous crusading on the behalf of the downtrodden masses and (shiver!!) the "un-insured," is simply window-dressing meant to obscure the fact that he, either as a real or make-pretend "doctor" believes that he will now be able to stop sweating away in the fields and start working in genteel livery within the plantation house as one of the "chosen" elite after the NCA goes into effect.   He thinks he will get a lot of $$$ out of the deal.

Time will tell and wound all heels.

He just another parasite with his hand out wanting a hand-out.

While I agree it appears to me that no matter who wins the end result will be the same. Only the timing will differ.

If Obama wins almost certainly nothing or very little will change fiscally. By 2016 or sooner the national debt will exceed $20 Trillion. The GDP growth will continue to be anemic. The real recession will most certainly hit. The recession and the high inflation that will follow will make the present situation look like a cake walk.

If Romney wins, most likely the same thing will happen except only sooner. Sooner is actually better than later. We should have let it happen 4 years ago. If we had avoided all the bailouts we would have been that much closer to real recovery. There is a modest chance that with proper spending cuts and better growth we could “thread the needle” and eventually climb out of this hole. Too many spending cuts will hasten “the end” but that might not be the worst thing in the long run.

I’m guess I’m somewhere around the top 15%. I am still 5 to 7 years from retirement and would gladly pay more in taxes, just as soon as the government shows me it can get spending under control. I am not alone in this attitude. Most others I know feel just the same. Until they show they can control their spending, I have no doubt they would piss away any extra revenue.

I am positioned to at least survive and most likely not too uncomfortably. That is unless the government starts taxing assets.

and I'm amused at the borderline narcissistic bragging here. But for the bell shaped curve of middle class Americans access to health care matters a fucking lot.

And Obama in the  WH will make the compromise on the Sequester a more equitable one and there will be one.  It's not going to be Bush tax cuts continue and the defense budget is totally cut although cutting the defense budget per sequester would be appropriate and fine with me.

Also Romney's "get tough on China" policy would only increase prices in the US and possibly cause China to say "fuck the treasury bond auctions" that keep the US economy afloat.

The election matters, and that's why Obama will be the new President. Get fucking used to it or move.

Your demonstrable bragging regarding your medical expertise is anything but borderline narcissistic. It's full blown narcissism. Giving a little background on oneself certainly helps people understand where I'm coming from.

From someone willing to pay more taxes, I'm not getting the whole selfish aspect you claim.

Good to see you again!

We don't agree on much, but on this we really do agree. At the end of the day, this election really doesn't matter. The rich will continue to be rich, the poor will continue to be poor, but in the end, we're all the same. What unites us all is at the end of the day, or at the end of our days, we're all worm food.

The same kind of worms will be dining on rich as will be dining on the poor. The worms go munch, munch, munch, and before ya know it, all of us are fertilizer.

Ever noticed that the grass looks so beautifully green at graveyards?

And to think, some people spend their precious time on this earth working 60 hour weeks at a financial firm or some corporate office so they can buy some fancy car. It's pretty hilarious when you think about it.

Just took a break. Good to hear from you Willy.

On this we agree, you can't take it with you, but if you have it while you are here, it does tend to make the time more fun IMHO...
