Obama is a charming guy who can deliver a speech with the best of them, but he can't think on his feet and he can't answer the tough questions.

First their was his disastrous debate vs. McCain that sort of hinted that he's lost without a teleprompter or when he needs to rely on knowledge of issues.

Part 3 of this Bill O'Reilly interview (on front page)asks Obama about his association with Willaim Ayers, proud domestic terrorist.  Obama has had months to come up with a decent answer and he just stutters and stammers through it.  What shocked me is that the association is even worse than I first believed.  They created legislation together.  His excuse that the bombing happened over 40-years-ago and Ayers really cares about education was nothing short of ridiculous.

Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, and most top Democrats have all been interviewed by O'Reilly at one time or another and most of them came across quite well. Obama flubbed this.

he never heard or knew about any of the ugly shit Wright said, and then Obama says, "What can I say?" IOW "Prove that I knew it." This makes him either a liar or a fool. Neither is good.

The Bill Ayers stuff will be a mortal blow to BO. When it all comes out it is over for BO.

The Dems may try to pull a stunt like they did in the NJ Senate race when the Dem getting his ass kicked dropped out and they stuck another guy in at the last minute.

So watch for a Hillary/Biden ticket by mid-October! lol

His "guilt through association" argument is so thin. I don't give a crap about his pastor, Daily Kos, etc.  But how many Presidential nominees have "associations" of any kind with admitted domestic terrorists?

He is running on "Judgement" and he thought it wise to work on legislation with this guy??!!  I know I shouldn't be so tough on Obama.  He hasn't hung out with Ayers in over "a year and a half".

Obama looked like a good candidate to be a truly different candidate for president.  He was NOT in Washington long enough to fall into the corrupt "Washington way of thinking" nor was he there too short a time to not understand that DC has its own rules and customs as to "how to get things done."   On that note, he was a breath of fresh air.  Obama also has the credentials that would indicate that he is a smart guy.  Period.  No qualifiers there.  And his campaign slogan of "Hope and Change" struck a chord with many, including me!  I believe that we do need change in Washington - and hope that can be accomplished.  We've come down a path that has been the result of a world at almost constant conflict with itself since 1939 or so.  That has to have warped the course of human civilization - and not just the U.S.  ALL of this is in Obama's favor.  However, he has had over 2 years to put together
1) what kind of change (specifics) he would bring about.
2) a plan that could be presented, defended and addressed without shifting position - everytime either a poll comes out, or he speaks to a different audience.  It is ok to, once in office, shift some of the plan around to be pragmatic in execution, but to do 180s is not a great idea in the midst of an election campaign.
3) a running mate who would strenghten his weak points, AND be one who would support change and demonstrate that support by his own past legislative or executive experience and record.

BO has done none of the above.  The vast majority of americans can see that clearly.  It does not matter the O'Reilly interviews him (I do not like O'Reilly's style of interviewing by the way, and refuse to watch it... but that is the subject of another topic).  What does matter, is that all of BO's inconsistencies are a matter of public record.  So how did he come to this positioin.  BO made a classic mistake as an underprivaledged kid - doing well in the "academic world"  - he thought that, as the system teaches, all world leaders are corrupt - they obtained power by being "wheelers and dealers"  - for while I may think whatever of some of the past Presidents, they did (and do) have beliefs that they have NEVER let go of.  That is, they stood for something.  BO has stood for whatever would get him elected... It started locally..... and no one noticed, cause he was consistent... but as he had to appeal to broader and wider social and economic groups to obtain both cash and votes, the local political stance no longer worked... and he had to shift position.... he did not recognize that the base that he started with - would always be there....  and need to be addressed.

So there you have it, a man - much to be admired - but sadly poorly mentored, and grossly under educated by Harvard.  Basics, they failed to teach him the basics...

And now, to my hope.  When he looses, it is my hope that he can be gracious... and learn from his mistakes... Go back to Congress, and truly help heal the country - He can do that... Just based upon his PHilly equality speech, if he meant it - I know he can do it... question is - will he.  Oh, do I think he could eventually be pres - yes I do.  But with more experience - as long as he learns from it - basics... ya gotta to back to basics.  and that is the difference between McCain and Obama... on has stood by his own beliefs... and one has not.

I can deal with OReilleys style no problem ..My favorites are Stephanopoulos and Tim Russert{RIP}
I listen to Hannitys interview for therapy..After 5 minutes of him I turn it off and everything else in my life seems great in comparison to what I just went through..

I've lived in Illinois for 33 years now. Check out how BHO climbed his way up the state government ladder. He did it, not by beating his competition, but by ELIMINATING them with dirty tricks.

He's certainly smart, but his education on;y taught him how to be liberal. He's never learned how to really think for himself. Hence the poor impromptu/adlib performances.

But Obama's lack of experience dealing with the media really showed.

considering the fact that O'reilly had him dead to rights. I give Obama kudos for trying, but O'reilly just had to much ammunition for Obama to have a chance.

It doesn't matter how good you are at spin, when someone like O'Reilly has the goods on you, you aren't getting off the hook.

Obama came across as calm, articulate, and guilty as hell. lol
