Lightly touched on the board before; I'm left of center & my ATF voted for Mccain. Despite that, we get along quite well. That beggars the q: if you're a conservative, would you have a "long term thing" with a liberal provider ? Conversely,
if you're a liberal, would you have a "long term
thing" with a conservative provider ?
Thoughts ?

I do, and will continue to do so. She is a staunch Obama supporter. I am most definitely not. We talk politics only online, not in each other's presence. Known her for 6 years.
While I am interested in "positions," not so much the kind you are talking about.
If I'm finding out that much about her "positions," then I'm not a happy camper at $400 an hour.
sorry that you can't afford that---------LMAO !
Btw---let's end the mystery right now; you sound like a supporter of Israel's labor party------correct ?--------![]()
When I am tired of them I turn on Rush and they leave..That way they shouldn't have feelings of unworthiness, inadequacy, guilt or personal resposibility for the break up..lol
Actually I hope I am never so shallow, ignorant,
or Nazi like, that I would allow someones choice in politics to influence my feelings for them..
I might sound dumb but I'm not dumbed down..

...besides, discussing politics is a buzzkill when you're naked, unless its part of a role playing thing...
Oh George, let's not park here!
Oh George, let's not park!
Oh George, let's!
Oh George!
Oh!
they did that one. Haven't thought about that for 40 years.
Marikod : Israeli labor party or "Xiao fellow traveller" ?
Politics have no place in the bedroom. Or the hallway, or the stairs, or the bathroom, or on the dining room table . . . . .
Couldn't do it once the subject was discussed.
If I'm going to see a lady more than once, I have to really enjoy talking about things that matter to both of us. I don't enjoy talking with very many conservatives because they are generally ill-informed and selfish at the very least and racist, homophobic religious nuts at worst.
I also love discussing art, music, literature, etc. and I find that few conservative people have a genuine interest in the 'liberal' arts.
That ought to ruffle a few feathers.
Well, coming from one of the few conservative ladies on the board, I can't help but guffaw at your broadstroke asessement of an entire community.
Religious nut? Hardly. I did the rolling on the floor speaking in tongues thing many years ago. Yes, really. Not for me.
Literature? I've got three bookshelves overflowing with books, and more in boxes taht I don't have room for. Pick an author. Chances are I've read something by him/her.
Music? My computer contains a music library with more than 4,000 songs on it. I have artists from Josh Groban and Yma Sumac on it, hundreds of classical pieces (I am especially fond of Yo Yo Ma), to heavy metal, classic rock, pop, and even some R&B. So which genre shall we discuss?
Ok, I admit, I am not much into art unless it is at least 100 years old. A painting of a woman should LOOK like a woman in my conservative opinion. Picasso hated women. So you got me on this one.
So what makes you think being politically conservative means someone can't be intelligent and educated as well? Look at this discussion board. Quite frankly, the posts that are well written on this board tend more often to come from conservative participants.
meant that someone couldn't be intelligent. I said that most conservatives I talk with are uninformed (that doesn't mean unintelligent) and selfish at best and racist, homophobic, religious nuts at worst.
J.S. MIll (I'm sure you've read something by him, right?) said it best-
"Not all conservative men are stupid, but most stupid men are conservative".
Which makes perfect sense. The more stupid we are, the more afraid we will be of anything that is different from us.
I prefer to spend my time with people who openly embrace life in all its richness rather than those who are afraid of anything different.
As for you personally, I respect your learnin' and ability to write coherently. I'm sure we would be able to talk about music and lit easily but I find your political reasoning reveals a great deal of spitefullness and meanness. As I said before, I prefer not to associate with people like that any longer unless I'm forced to.
. . . when all you did was demonstrate for everyone how the mind of an elitist, arrogant and uninformed person functions? Thank you
Because I choose to spend my time with people whose company I find engaging rather than focus solely on pussy?
Guilty as charged.
But I knew I'd hit a nerve with the less secure conservatives.
worm "I choose to spend my time with people whose company I find engaging
I knew I'd hit a nerve with the less secure conservatives."
Actually I had a feeling of sorrow, and a vivid mental picture of you.
ROFLMAO worm...You define Insecure..
Talk about the worm calling the grub dirty..
If you avoid friendships and associations with those that differ in opinion and politics with your own, then you are merely living a life of a uncreative worm, unknowingly famished from repetitive munching on the same piece of petrified wood..

Way to go quad!!! You said that right.
Yep, I'm insecure and friendless. LOL. That's me.
I didn't say I avoid friendships with people with whom I disagree only because they disagree with me, I said I avoid them because I find that most conservatives are uninformed and mean-spirited. I have some very good friends who are very conservative but they are also very atypical. They even agree with me and prefer to associate with people who are much more liberal than they are for exactly the same reasons I stated.
Why would I want to hang around people I find relatively ignorant and shallow in thought? What am I going to learn from the racists, religious nuts, xenophobes, and dittoheads who make up the vast majority of conservatives here in Georgia?
Plus, I spent 30 years teaching. I spent every day cooped up in a classroom with 25 teenagers, many of whom I would not associate with if given the choice. I spent more time each month learning about, with, and from people who are unlike me than you will in your entire life. Forgive me if I want to relax a little and associate with people I find enjoyable now.
Now, you go on and feel sorry for me while I go ahead and enjoy my retirement, friends, family, and ability to associate freely with whom I choose.
LOL. You kill me. You really do.
you want me to worry about their politics. ![]()
I could forgive her for voting for McCain, but Palin???
we have the money.
then you truly have a warped sense of priorities. LOL

I don't care who she may have voted for. I just don't want her to tell me who I should vote for. And vice versa.
