a racist organization. Why can't it be the NAAP, National association for the Advancement of People? The NAACP, for those interested in history, was started by three whites in NYC, in 1909. They were William Walling, Henry Moscowitz, and Mary White Ovington.

They inviting him to a couple of their events to honor the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King, and he felt he was too busy to do so. He views them as a special interest group, and he says he does not want to be "held hostage," by such. If I'm not mistaken, there is a big difference between someone extending an invitation to another person vs. holding them hostage. I hope his scruples hold up under the pressure from the other special interest groups who will be extending invitations to him during his time in office.

And if you don't acquiesce to their demands they label you a racist. In this case they are accusing the Gov of inflaming racial tensions.

They also asked him to visit a prison to talk to black inmates. The Governor refused and said he would consider going only if he would see all of the inmates, not just the black ones.

Anyone with half a brain is aware of the NAACP's tactics of coercion and threats if they don't get their way.
