Since Apple has made mobile phones so political, its only fitting we celebrate their eclipse in the market. My source is the Captivate screen in the elevator this morning. I find elevator tvs to be the best place to get accurate news. Next to my phone, of course.

Apple is Apple and Windows PC is Windows PC.

Android is Android and iOS that runs on iPhone is iOS.

Besides Android is a give away and Google tried their own phones and flopped.

Tell you what, when people start out innovating Apple then, we will talk. Until then it is just rubbish stat no one gives a crap. 400 Android OS vs. 1 phone and one company.

American should be proud of Apple for their innovation and an icon all over the world for American innovation. Instead of Samsung, HTC, and 197 other Korean phone makers putting Android on their phones.

Apple has never innovated. Their strength is branding and marketing tech that already exists. Slapping on the logo and running it up the cult flag pole.

Creating usable, practical, intuitive software interfaces is inovation and Apple does this well.

Being brand name loyal is nothing to be ashamed of. Its not like you're having sex with your phone. Or are you? With Apple users its conceivable.

I'm not anti Apple. They are the best at branding some existing technology and marketing it. Even though they force users through their iTunes and can't play common file types. They have a knack for dumbing down and charging extra for it.

But don't be afraid, Apple user. Don't be afraid.

The topic was innovation and I said that Apple was innovative in the area of UI design. What made you think that I was an Apple user? Mac OS X is actually a distro of BSD unix, an OS that needs a GUI in order to be useful for most people. I personally use Ubuntu and run MSW7 in an Oracle VM when I need MS stuff.
What do you use? MS DOS? LOL>

Amazingly you are correct about the Mac OS being a significant descendant of the BSD, by way of NeXT though.

But getting back to the topic, neither OSX, any flavor of Linux nor Oracle is a phone.

Maybe Wikipedia can help you with that too.
