I can't decide if this was arrogance, irony, or just plain piss poor planning on Hillary's part, but on the same day she announces her intent to create a Cabinet level "Poverty Czar" position, she releases her tax returns indicating that she and Billy earned a combined $109 million over a 7 year period.

Was this just bad timing? Was this an example of the balls swinging freely under her pantsuit that lead her to believe she doesn't have to worry about anyone calling her on her hypocrisy? Or was this just another example of just how out of touch the Clinton's really are?

On a side note, I couldn't help but guffaw at the notion of a "poverty Czar". Seriously. We have been fighting a "war on poverty" for decades now, but how dedicated to it are we really? If we were at "war" with poverty, wouldn't we be seeing welfare recipients declared to be "enemy combatants"? Wouldn't the homeless be getting rounded up and sent to Gitmo??

Get an education, high school, technical school, specialty school...anything, just don't drop out of school.

When parents finally take responsibility and amke sure their kids get an education we'll put a big dent in poverty.

Democrats have had control of schools for 50 years - and what has improved?   Get school vouchers "choice."

controlled by the DNC.  All teachers are Democrats - why is that, only Democrats are interested in teaching?  Or is there something about teaching that makes a person into a Democrat?

What you mean is that teaching doesn't work for people whose idea of progress is bitching, whining and moaning that it costs too much to buy a politician these days.

School vouchers are just a way of subsidizing churches, and turning us into a country that teaches creation science, so we have to import all our doctors from advanced countries like fuckin India!  It's the churches that have gotten us into more shit than they solve.

You don't like the product, get involved yourself.  I don't like it either, but I think that the 1st problem is the bullshit psycho theories that excuses the failures in schools, instead of working on them.

You can't expect glib answers are going to solve everything.  Yeah, parents should be responsible, but so should teachers, and the fact is that a lot of us are divorced because the ex is certifiable.

Yes, CD, I know you don't deal in facts; drunken ranting only. But like it or not, teachers are, in the vast, vast majority, Democrats, as are most people on the public teat. Coincidence that Dems want higher taxes?  

Education is the biggest industry in the USA, and the NEA bought the Dems a long time ago. Vouchers and school choice has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with competition.

Non-profit, my ass. Boston public school teachers work 185 days, at the top end make 75-80K, which is a cool $432 per work day, retire at 80% of the average of the last 3 years pay for life, with a COLA. And, they want their asses kissed to boot. Up here they drive around in SUV's with I Care, I Teach bumper stickers.

Parents are the key to education. Kick some ass when your kid isn't running right, kick the teachers ass when he/she isn't doing the job. It doesn't take a village, it takes at least one parent. It takes a village idiot to believe it takes a village.

I agree with you that parents are important.  You're fucking deranged if you think that a parent alone can do the job - if for no other reason than the teachers are hired to work.

You're also deranged if you don't think parents are all gonna agree on what's right.  More than one of us is divorced from a spouse with a MAJOR psychiatric history.  

I suppose we could leave it with the simple observation that you're deranged.

Hell yes, they can say anything they want and they do. The problem is CREDIBILITY. Kind of like me telling you I am faithful to my wife and don't covet yours, while in reality I am banging your wife every time you leave for work.

Awww now come on we all know why poverty is so rampant in the country....the same reason as all other ills, white racists...:)

In a seriousness though, this will be an extension of the effort to redistribute wealth in this country. Democracy and Communism are one and the same and this country will continue to decline until the masses realize that, my guess is that they wont ever get it and if they do, it will be to late.
