alluding to "the end of 2012," that you are talking about elections. Not certain if you are thinking about federal congressional elections, state congressional elections, state governorships, and/or the presidential election.

If it's the presidential election, in particular, "It's the economy, stupid."

If you can predict what the economy will be by then, then you can predict if a Republican or Democrat will, be elected. If the economy makes a modest improvement then it's a jump ball.

So, get back to me, say in October of 2012, and I will give you my prediction.

the Mayan End of Times Prophecy or some other cataclysmic event. I do expect a lot of whack jobs on the TER board in 2011 predicting all kinds of stupid shit. Might be a good time for a hiatus.

Hopefully the next 2 years the economy will pick up, unemployment will drop, the stock market will reach a new high, I'll get laid more, and everybody on planet Earth will own an IPAD, except for me.

they are reminding people of 'The End of Days' prophecy. Preying on those who don't have the power of free-thinking i'm afraid.

Ok, we are about 2 years away and I can see most people on this board are fairly intelligent so who has an educated guess as to what will happen at the end of 2012?  I have lots of ideas as to what may happen because of current events but it would be interesting to see what other people have on their mind.  I'm tired of watching the History channel.

I'm referring to the Myan cycle.  More important, why?

a man’s man, quaffing a six pack, going to tail-gate parties, chasing tail and watching football.

Now, thanks to my influence, he’s a chardonnay sipping, cocktail party attending, sensitive Bank of America shareholder who watches the wimpy Pac 10 (“Excuse me – did I foul you? I am so sorry”). Soon, he’ll even be defending Roman Polanski.

I think my year on the Board has been a success.

because 2010 has been a good year. And next week I'll be spending a few days on one of my favorite islands. Yes, St. Croix U.S. Virgin Islands. Now if you will excuse me, I need to quaff a beer, scratch my ass, and watch some girl on girl porn, which is actually preferable to watching UCLA basketball.

Quaff? Can't say I've ever used that word to describe anybody's drinking in the past (lol).

it's almost like saying that someone "debunked" the story of Adam and Eve. Some thing are so ridiculous that they don't need "debunking", next thing you know someone will be debunking L Ron Hubbard's dianetic's bullshit. rofl

Some Christians believe that the End Times will be marked by years of tribulation, but that Christians who are saved will be spared the ordeal of the Tribulation by being "raptured". Literally, they believe that all who are saved will disappear from the earth in the blink of an eye, and 'raptured' to heaven. The belief comes from some passages found in Revelations, and is not dogma that most Christian denominations subscribe to. When I was a member of a Baptist church, the end times, tribulation, and rapture were popular topics for Sunday sermons. I was so silly back then :)
