But these are hardly "normal" times. If Johnson's numbers were to suddenly skyrocket, I might not have to hold my nose quite so tightly in November.
What bothers me about this whole election is that that GOP isn't against Trump because of his positions, ok at least not entirely, they are scared shitless an "outsider" could suddenly be running everything and at least with Hillary they know she is bought and paid for like all the rest of them, but WTF are you going to do with a loose cannon like Trump who doesn't want to "follow the rules" and respect the pecking order of those with four or five decades worth of experience in Washington.

I don't think it's outsider thing, let alone the political positions thing. I think it's a personality thing.
The guy is either nuts, or just he doesn't take this presidency-shit seriously. I, for example, agree with many substantive things that Trump says and I realize that you do need an outsider to implement them but I'd vote for you GaGa before I'd vote for Trump. 
Trump acts like a typical spoiled rich brat, trying to use every inch of notoriety he gets out of this for his personal gain (judge on his Trump U case, wants to pass legislation to be able to sue the press for writing something that he thinks is "vicious", etc), speaks whatever comes to mind with no regard of how it's going to effect the country. Not that he gives a damn about the country all that much anyway. It's all about number one baby, it's all about "bathing in fame", and the rest can go to hell as far as Trump's concerned.
Remember, the shit that he says about himself? It's total nonsense. That his taxes are under audit and that's why he can't show it to you like the rest of the candidates do? Total bullshit. I don't think there are those out there that are as gullible as to think that that's the reason Trump doesn't want to make his taxes public.
Remember he says he's worth 10 billion dollars? You know it's bullshit right? You know that it's a nice round number for you "stupid" to remember. The guy's an awesome used car salesman, and no doubt a successful one at that.
Remember he says that his father gave him no more then $1 million dollars (another nice round number) to start with? First of all, you do know that it's bunch of shit, but second, even if it was true - $1 million dollars in the early 70s?! Dude, that's like probably $10 billion dollars nowadays . If someone were to give me $1 million dollars in the early 70s, I'd buy myself an island in Caribbean, put the rest in the bank and live happily ever after. So as far as I'm concerned the guy is not as successful as he portrays himself to be. His dadda was. He himself is just a bit more then a "son of".
Now, does Trump really wants to be president? I don't think so. If a face saving solution were to present itself for him to get out, I bet he'd be out in the heartbeat. Other then that, I pretty sure he'd rather lose then win. So if he losses, first of all he can claim that the system was rigged against him and second, he'd still be able to tell his body Carl Ichan and all of his rich friends: "Well I've got one over you! I was a heartbeat away!"
His main thing seem to be getting a "white racist" vote which sure is substantial but nowhere nearly substantial as a white white color vote, that hardly ever votes democratic but 90% of which has issues with "white racist" vote and don't want to be considered as part of it. Don't forget, people are maybe disgusted with the Clintons but very few would look at the Clintons as "liberals".
Judging from that alone Trump should lose unless... who knows he just may decide to win, just for a fuck of it. I've no doubt that if Trump really sets his mind on winning, he'll have no problems winning especially against such a flawed opponent as Hillary. He just doesn't want to win. But he still doesn't want his rich friends to think that he doesn't want to win. So poor Trump. Big dilemma. Don't you wish you had problems like that in your life? :
