Funny thing: for those who think the US has become extreme capitalism and Europe is moderate socialism, I have a question.

Why do so many more people (proportionate to population) want to emigrate from moderate socialism - Europe - to extreme capitalism - U.S.

Then, after they see life in both, they chose to remain here.

Any conclusions that can be drawn?

Capitalism-bad
Socialism-good

We are only an economic power because of our natural resources which is why millions of people form such resource rich nations like Mexico are immigrating, legally and illegally by droves.

I can't wait to see the millions of people trying to get into Russia now that it's a well known fact that they have billions in oil. I wonder what they are going to have to do to keep "their" borders secure? I mean let's face it, Russia is totally energy efficient and they have such a superior economic and political system, they must be overun with people trying to get in. lol

It isn't just oil. It is gold, diamond, uranium, coal, etc.

In fact, Russia is the richest nation in Europe in terms of resources, and they were there from 1920 to 1990. And they did such a good job harvesting them for their people for those 70 yeras..

Now, in terms of resources, Japan has cherry blossems, and without resources they have done rather well.

Having natural resources is less related to wealth than just about any factor you can think of.

"We are only an economic power because of our natural resources" is not a true statement. The US has a large need for cheap labor. Capitalists don't care about immigration. Capitalists own the means of production worldwide. Labor is considered a commodity by capitalists thus it can be called a resource. The dynamic movement of labor resources across borders is of great benefit to the capitalist since world markets are also controlled by capitalists. Labor follows capital. Capitalists move capital across markets causing changes in the prices of commodities. The root cause of the economic chaos that we see now is caused by the inability of capitalists to agree on what the value of various commodities should be.
