President Musk?

It sure looks like it. Musk blew up the spending deal with a tweet, then Trump was forced to follow with his own tweet. Then the bill they both supported failed, with dozens of Republicans voting against it.
Is Trump now seething inside over this monster he created? Will he turn on Musk? Can the dysfunctional Republicans in the House get their act together. Or will the government get shut down?
The guy isn't even President yet and he's already fucking things up. And this time he had help from the Frankenstein's Monster he created.
Musk seems to actually WANT a shut-down. Does Trump?

However, the R's are already blaming Democrats.  Who weren't even in the room when this spending deal was crafted.  And they are supposed to come to the rescue when the R's cannot even pass their own spending deal?  Give me a break.  Mike Johnson does not know how to count votes.  Say what u want about Pelosi, but stuff didn't come for a vote unless she knew it would pass.  Look, I am not a fan of the Debt Limit.  Dems aren't a fan of it either.  However, don't bring a spending plan to the floor unless you have the other side involved.  U are just shooting yourselves in the foot every time you do.  Unless you have a big enough majority that you can withstand a few no votes.  And right now, the R's don't have that.

Only 2 Democrats voted to keep the government open.  Had a few more voted in favor of keeping the government open, the measure would have passed.

I knew there'd be a few Republicans here who'd blame the Dems for their failure. But it won't wash. Some Dems would have supported the original deal. You know, the one Trump/Musk torpedoed. Then the Republicans created a Trump supported bill that gave the Dems nothing. Why would they vote for the resulting joke?
Keep swinging and missing, Fester.

The Dems voted to shut down the government.  You can spin all you want.  But the vote is now on the record.

Again, if u want Dem votes, u had damn well better include them in the process.  The Dems were just told to fall in line.  There was a bi-partisan agreement that would have passed.  And President Musk tanked it.  Everybody knows it.  Heck, in the 2nd vote, 15% of the R's did not support it.  What a bunch of clowns the R's have become.

Do they control the Speaker's office?
If so, they are responsible for what happens. or doesn't happen.

38 Republicans voted against the bill. So how is this the Democrats fault?
And it all happened because Co-President Musk told them to vote against the original bill, which WAS supported by enough Dems to pass it.
You just can't have it both ways, Wanker.

…about is the giant mandate, landslide, trifecta.  Put on your big boy pants, pass your own bill.”
—Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) addressing Republicans from the House floor

willy: …Dems voted for a shut down.”
Since willy has to take off his shoes to be able to count to 20, I’ll explain it to him:
218 votes are needed to pass a bill in the House.
172 Republicans voted FOR the bill.  37 Republicans voted AGAINST the bill.  10 Republicans did NOT vote.
172+37+10=219.  If ALL Republicans would have voted FOR the bill it would have passed.  With 219 votes, House Republicans can pass any fucking bill they want.

But willy blames the Dems.  willy is a fucking moron.  He can’t think for himself; he merely parrots the words of idiots like JD Vance.

My point was not the content of the bill but that it was incompetently steered by Republican leadership, finished with bi-partisan support and then abandoned when President Musk shit all over it, leaving Trump to scramble behind and then pretend he'd told Musk to do it.
So the larger point is about Republican dysfunction and incompetence.
Trump is not off to a good start.

Re: That's really a different discussion.
My point was not the content of the bill (or at least that’s the bullshit I’m going to hide behind) but that it was incompetently steered by Republican leadership, finished with bi-partisan support (you know I’m full of shit when I say bi-partisan anything) and then abandoned when Elon  Motherfucking Musk shit stopped it, leaving Trump to bask in the success of it.
So back to my blue 🥶 goo talking points, the larger point is about Republican dysfunction and incompetence.
Trump is off to a GREAT start.
They stopped my side from wasting more money
