It seems to me that when people share views, a ceetain amount of short time and tempers and "yo' mama" is predictable (and tolerable, if you're not a complete misfit). Eg, what is/is not relevant is open to debate, and that's what happens in forums.
Last I checked, the worst damage anybody ever suffered here was some hurt feelings, which IMHO is more a personal problem (ie within ones mind and control) than anything else.
So all in all, somebody coming on and citing some rules because that's THEIR view, is sorta like anybody else telling people THEIR view. Funny how it might work to their benefit, or shut up potential disagreement - or even kill a forum. Forums don't exist without posters, and aren't useful unless they can maintain a certain critical mass. Eg, everybody hates assholes, but they're the ones who draw the traffic, aren't they?
So the real rules here should be that everybody should kiss MY ass, not somebody else's; and when *I'M* offended, then ya'll should tremble. How do ya like THAT?!
Ironically this board enjoys considerably more vigor than most ‘polite’ discussion boards do.
